Definitely saw this and agree - but the hurdle she fell at was jumped the race before. The hurdle she made the first mistake at wasn't.

Best performance at the weights too. Add that to course form (old course/new course, whatever, Cheltenham’s Cheltenham and it’s still an advantage vs nothing) and she’s surely the most likely winner in March. Willie looks to be drawing a blank so far, wonder when we will next see gauloise?

Some idiot decided to add back and not properly, she has jumped the shadow and bashed her head. Jockey so confident she would still win, did not pull up when he should have. Hopefully its a bad cut on her head and she will be back one day."

They didn't jump the fence on the home straight in the chase that's just happened either, so that makes:

1235 - no home straight jump (Hurdle)
1310 - home straight jump (Hurdle), SWIW makes horrible error
1345 - no home straight jump (Chase)

I don't usually care with hurdles/fences are removed or not, but I can't believe conditions changed that much between races from TV viewing so it smacks of poor decision making by officials to me...

Thanks for the update, sounds like she'll be okay which is the most important thing.

Agreed that a Flemensfirth might prefer soft ground but her form on g/s is perfectly acceptable and her shrewd trainer feels she will come on for the run.
Royal Kahala still not getting any love yet she's given HHU 3lb and stayed on the stronger.

                    • SWIW tweet from her owners, shows just how far off the hurdle she was jumping. Every right to be annoyed with the track, ridiculous stuff.

I think if the horse turns out to be sound after the fall today, I'll certainly back it closer to the Festival or on the day. If they can get her back for a run in February and she goes close I think she's Willie's best mare so has to be respected.

                        • Any thoughts on Finest Evermore as an EW option here? Was right out the back turning in, wasn't given a hard ride and finished closest at the line. Cheltenham race could suit up the hill.

                          • What’s happened to Gauloise? Was entered for todays race but wasn’t declared.

                            • I know the prize money isn't great but looking at the division if I was the trainer / owner of L'autonomie I'd seriously think about coming over for this
