Very unlikely I would think given how long she has been off now.

I have no doubts she’d see out 3m so would be a live Pertemps horse should they take that route, 33s looks OK but she’s one with a few possible targets so a small any race cover might be a sensible play….
Myself and Saxon have both put up pretty much the same case. she was still going ok the other day when she made a race ending mistake. Not saying she would have won but would have been much closer. She also employed different tactics by sitting in behind rather than take up the running. I am still with her at 33s and think ill get a good run for my money in March

Yeah, I think someone has since convinced me to back her in the Mares, which I have, and the beauty of that is I have someone to blame when she hoses up in the Pertemps...

From a breeding/value perspective I'm fairly sure they'll have a crack at Mares Hurdle. That angle is so much easier to bank on for a small yard/ownership like theirs.

          • I can understand why single bet punters are staying away but, if you're making a book, I really don't understand why last weekend was encouraging for TMSG and Heaven Help Us but no-one seems interested in Royal Kahala. at 20/1. Agreed that a Flemensfirth might prefer soft ground but her form on g/s is perfectly acceptable and her shrewd trainer feels she will come on for the run.

Course form and lack of course form are the two answers to your question.

Was anything confirmed after her novice hurdle run at HQ last season ? I know she finished lame, at what point of the race that occurred might explain the lifeless effort, she was certainly highly thought of going into the race…

The fact she didn't run last year but would have as a social runner?

Was a big fan of RK last year, but nothing about her screams ante post bet.

Social runners don't usually start as favourite.

HHU is the same course, the coral cup is run over the old course.

I would personally prefer course form even on the new course to something that ran poorly here on her only previous attempt. Maybe it was just an off day for royal kahala but her lack of course form puts me off her a bit.

Sorry, I didn't realise you meant HHU. Yes, that's fair enough.

If you finish lame I'd say it excuses an off day but RK was clearly better than the other 2 the last time and direct form is as important as course form for me.

As I said, as a single ante-post real money bet, she's not outstanding but if you're building a book I'd have thought that she's worth her place alongside the other two simply on the basis of the recent race. I don't do books so I was interested in why those who do would omit her but have the other two.

                          • B365 hold 33/1 with Burning Victory whilst 16's elsewhere. That run behind Buzz looks pretty good now given how far clear they both were.

                            • Cant have burning victory personally until she proves she can jump better

The talent is there but the hurdling needs a huge amount of work
