She'll have the lowest official rating in the Morgiana but i'd be surprised if she's not favourite on the day. Poor renewal potentially, she wins that and she's 6 or 7/1 i'd say. Still, i missed bigger prices so i'll leave her.

2022 Champion Hurdle

I had French Aseel backed for this but cashed out when Willie said he might not be back this season.
In the meantime I have got Aramon added to this market as this should be his division if he returns all well, Hills priced 50/1 so I took that as Betfair with cash out was only 25/1.
If the race cuts up then 50/1 might be decent each way bet I feel.
This was the quote when he won the 2020 Galway Hurdle;
You'd like to think he could do what Sharjah and did and improve into a Champion Hurdle horse. I thought he'd shown his hand at Tipperary. I got a great start and was able to take a pull on the rail. He's jumped fantastically - Patrick Mullins, rider of Aramon

Prices are interesting.
Looks like Sharjah v Echoes, and maybe one or 2 others will run. Zanyhir & Darasso maybe.
Abacadabras might tun also as he won last year and they may fancy this more than taking on Honeysuckle.

As much as I don't think EIR is good enough to win a Champion Hurdle I do think she'll be good enough to beat that lot. Obviously she'll need to to have any chance of even running in the race, let alone winning it. I think, despite his admirable run in the Champion Hurdle, Sharjah has probably seen his better days behind him now. No doubt Willie will manage to win a decent pot with him at some point, but I don't think this is it, nor do I think this is his favoured track, despite beating a 10 year old Faugheen a few years back now.
Connections have already said Zanahiyr may need 2m 4f, and Abacadabras could well be in that same bracket. That leaves Darasso, who is probably just like the previously two mentioned, and likely needs at least the intermediate trip. Saldier gave him a target two runs back and he couldn't reel him in over 2m, instead Saldier went clear again that day.
I didn't want to put a downer on it before she's even had the chance to run, but I think she wins and she gets cut for the Champion Hurdle. The time to back her, if you like her, is before this race and not after it, IMO.

Unlike last years renewal that had none except Supasundae, which told me nothing except that they were probably all not good enough to win a champion hurdle.
I think a good second or a win would enhance her credentials.
But like you said, these races can be very tactical and nothing like a champion hurdle.

I think she needs to win to be of a level of Champion Hurdle contender quality, and on that basis will probably back her for Sunday as opposed to the Champion Hurdle itself, with the exception of the early freebies I got on.

If she does win, I'd say it's the best performance first time up for a novice coming into open company since Sharjah beat Faugheen.
Can't think of a better one. in this division anyway.

It's just my opinion of her. I've not been as impressed as many seemed to have been, and that probably shows through from my opinion of the race itself. She needs to win it for me, and I think it is a very winnable race.

Some horses that likely all need 2m 4f?
