For what it’s worth to be a champion you have to prove yourself against the best around in any given year, some renewals are deeper than others, a champion can’t do anything about that…

I still think Epatante will put it up to Honeysuckle. She is a better jumper of a hurdle but perhaps lacks Honeysuckle’s overall class. If she turns up injury free I think it will be interesting. No foregone conclusion in my mind.

Would be nice to see last year's forum favourite Echoes in Rain run some sort of race today although I'd really want to see her covered up in a large runner race before giving up on her. Willie continuing with her at the highest level although she'd be giving weight in lesser mares races.

The tongue tie could well work for Echoes today. She may well run a big race behind Honey and book her place in March. She's currently a huge Ew price for the Champion Hurdle.

I do think Saint Roi is overpriced today and in the Champion Hurdle market, and have made no secret of the latter on here. I think he can overturn the form with Zanahiyr provided he has come on for that run on his seasonal debut.
