  • It’s a very hard race to call, so good question, Kev. I’ll go against the grain, and probably look a fool on the day:

    Edwardstone
    Blue Lord
    Third Time Lucki

If Mullins runs 3 they could well fill the frame. I would like to see Haut En Coulours run here as i think he could run Blue Lord close. If Blue Lord jumps around he will be hard beat.
Yeah I agree really, this might be one of the worst renewals in some time, I said this after the Ferny news came out also just feels there will be no superstar in the field at all

        • Wow..... didn't realize TTL was so popular!!!!! Perhaps he's the value bet Kev?

          • Just curious, why does everyone like TTL when he was comprehensively put in his place by Edwardstone at Sandown? Is it Alan King’s record at Cheltenham?

              Yep, very odd.
Maybe it’s Skelton’s prolific record with G1 festival novice chasers….

Think it's more TTL record at Cheltenham plus the hope that Skelton has learned that he needs to hold onto him for as long as he can to get the best out of him. His jumping , Sandown apart, has been scintillating.

                  1) He’s not trained by Mullins.
                  2) He won a race last time that fell apart because they went off like the clappers. Don’t rate that form at all and nothing else in his entire career would even have mentioned as an Arkle winner.
                  3) His Cheltenham record is average.
                  4) There’s been just one 8 year old win the Arkle in 20 years. Younger horses are just much more suited for this seemingly.
                  5) He’s not called Blue Lord.

I couldn’t back either of them with counterfeit.

We’re in an era of Irish domination, I doubt the records of UK NH powerhouses like Pipe, McCain and Tizzard are much better…

14 of Kings 86 straight losers were single priced horses.

                            • Someone mentioned tongue in cheek about Appreciate It diverting course to here. Wouldnt look a bad idea now to be honest. I remember there was talk of Klassical Dream coming straight to the arkle without a prep run. Why would willie run AI against Honeysuckle when this could be a penalty kick?

maybe he thinks he has the arkle covered still and that AI is capable of beating Honeysuckle

That Twisters stats staggers me, he bangs them in at every other Cheltenham meeting…
