We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

Doubt it. If anything other than BL wins I'd say Edwardstone would go favourite which no one would have predicted at the beginning of this season.

Busselton or Embittered winning would make Edwardstone fav.

Beyond though, whatever wins the Irish Arkle, goes fav though surely?

It'll be the Mullins or Elliott winner of the Irish Arkle, "best form", fresh in people and bookies minds......versus an Alan King horse.

Not saying it's right, but it's pretty hopeful to think Haut / Riviere / SS wouldn't be fav.... they'd get backed into fav if not!

And the 3 in front of them in the betting as well imo. Only BL is in front of Edwardstone at the head of the Arkle betting so unless the 3 behind BL on Saturday absolutely blow him away then King's horse would go fav and deservedly so.

Cant agree with that. If Haut En Couleurs or Saint Sam beat Blue Lord fairly well, they would go fav over Edwardstone for me.

We'll find out for sure at about 2.15pm on Saturday. Let it all unfold. Don't think we'll ever know the answer though as BL wins

                • Edwardstone and Third Time Lucki likely to meet again in the Kingmaker at Warwick.

You have to say that this season has been an exciting one with all these top horses not afraid to take each other on pre Festival. Long may it continue.

I'm going to Warwick would love to see them clash, will have a good bet on TTL in running if I see Skelton riding him cold

He'll have to try and hold onto him after what happened at Sandown. Whether that will be possible I don't know. Hopefully someone else will make the pace.
I'd personally like him to go straight to Cheltenham but can see why they might want to run him if the ground stays Good as it could go against him in March.

He will be praying that for pleasure runs again

The exception is from Riviere as a mare....and top mares often nearly as good as geldings (as Honeysuckle shows)....so in effect her mares allowance brings her back into it

Saint Sam and Haut En Colours need to improve a stone to win Arkle too

For me....main contenders have to be Blue Lord, Edwardstone, Riviere and TTL (if runs) in that order
                          Slightly confused by this.

She's a 5yo mare just like the boys. She gets the mares allowance regardless, can't workout why that makes her an exception.

Just read the article in Racing Post - if you thought your horse was good enough to win the Arkle and goes best fresh, why would you 'make hay while the ground is good' just one month before the festival? Can't be a positive sign

                            • Money for saint Sam yesterday. Rachel jocked up.l this weekend so I guess this will be her ride come Cheltenham? Has to be the only reason right?,

I am on. But it really surprises me that a boodles second could be 6/1 for the Arkle a year later potentially. Boodles!!

Top mares tend to be almost as good as geldings even without the allowance.......and so my point is her mares allowance essentially compensates for being a 5 year old, which no longer have an allowance

Its only a theory.....but why less inclined to rule out Riviere like other 5 year olds
