I'm with Riviere here. That 7lb pull will be the difference. Another reason why it is too much of a weight advantage.
She couldn't beat Ferny getting 13lb. Maybe he's more than 6lb better than Blue Lord but I'm not convinced on the little evidence we have over fences. Think the limited evidence also makes the handicap view very 'guessy'. Most of them don't have marks yet because they've not run enough times...
admittedly the whole things a bit guessy. I'm just not the man to put that much thought into my guessing
I see the 7lb allowance talked about all the time as a reason that a mare is a good bet/likely winner for a certain race and I’ve always been baffled by the reasoning, particularly when all their back form is against geldings anyway, and they’ve been in receipt of the 7lb for all those prior runs.
Magic Daze and Coeur Sublime both poss....but no chance
Remember Willie talking about his team for last year and including Rachael.....not sure what Henry thought......so sure she will get rides for him....but doubt any good as SG and Allaho....was strange year last with Covid
If Saint Sam wins, then surely Paul rides him at Chelt anyway
We always talk about 5 year olds having big disadvantage in Champion Hurdle....but surely same applies in Arkle without weight allowance
The exception is from Riviere as a mare....and top mares often nearly as good as geldings (as Honeysuckle shows)....so in effect her mares allowance brings her back into it
Saint Sam and Haut En Colours need to improve a stone to win Arkle too
For me....main contenders have to be Blue Lord, Edwardstone, Riviere and TTL (if runs) in that order

Agree that the Arkle winner will come from those. I was thinking of adding to my rather sad looking Arkle portfolio so had a really good study of the Irish Arkle race but just can't come up with one to topple Blue Lord. I think he'll win easily at the weekend.

Riviere def has chance given run against Ferny.....strictly is ahead of BL on ratings
Not sure would hold for Cheltenham, but not impossible Rachael manages to put Paul in a pocket at the wrong point in race....not like it hasn't happened once or twice before ....but really hoping BL wins easily....been my main Arkle play all year....Ferny was a close second and still getting over that
Have an emotional attachment to Edwardstone having been to yard just before the run that put him in picture,....but English form ???
