Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • I thought he had a lot in hand there. A potential step up in trip to the Marsh?

    • With a line through El barra? Impossible to know really as neither BL or Saint Sam were exactly pushed out to win on their respective debuts. Also looked like Blue Lord improved again on his 2nd run.

I'd also have Blue Lord as the much slicker jumper right now.

bet of a lifetime???? neither will be beating FH. Just putting the BL puff into perspective Rooster.

He is indeed a very good jumper, will stand him in good stead for a tilt at the Arkle. And yes improved again for his next run.

Yeh I think so, but the 2nd would have been more conclusive maybe if they had jumped all the fences. The way he jumps I think that would have been even more impressive than it was.
But he was very good in his first race this season, so fair enough if anyone don’t agree.

                  • On a line through El Barra Saint Sam and Blue Lord probably aren't miles apart on ability. I'd favour the latter who's older and generally more experienced, but there wouldn't be a gulf between them based on today, thats for sure. Don't think much has changed to be honest.

And on a line through the devil's coachman, Saint Sam is better than Ferny Hollow.

                        Daft stuff this imo.

                        • SS is entitled to improve for that run. His next run will be interesting

I’d doubt the rating for sure
                            it was an unsatisfactory race
how many fences would need to be missing for an RPR to be rendered meaningless for a novice chase rating ?

I guess I can see both sides. Yes as a test of jumping it wasn’t satisfactory but I also feel it’s not unreasonable to believe he would have won even more emphatically with all the fences in play recognising the quality of his jumping....I’d prefer to take a glass half full view of his performance but fully understand folks that feel the opposite.

I think the plethora of keen types likely to turn up in this years renewal is a significant factor and I think very early in the race we will know whether FH is in good shape or whether Edward or BL have the advantage....it’s not really my cup of tea but I’d think there will be significant in running opportunities very early doors.
