  • Blue Lord settled well there. I can see him going up in trip now as last year he would have been pulling the jockeys arms off going that pace.

    • Only saw the last couple of furlongs of the Blue Lord race, looked like he couldn't possibly have done it any easier, but does anyone know how many fences were omitted? Not that it looks like it'd have made much difference!

4 fences omitted (2 in straight twice)

Literally the opposite of how I saw it. He's just shown how much speed he has. Arkle has to be the target surely.

The only reason it wouldn't be would be Mullins trying to split him and FH up. But it'd be the wrong call imo

              Yep, he’s a bit of a nutter…… in a nice way!!
Another reason to think Edwardstone will have the perfect set up.

4 in total missed out in the home straight

Given how well he jumped the ommited fences were against him if anything

I hope he runs against ferny in the Irish arkle

How I saw it too, looks a natural 2 miler to me.
Bromley will have his say hopefully if trainer tries to split him and FH.

I saw it the same. Think he'll give Ferny Hollow fits as well.

If he was mine, he would go the Arkle. But he showed he could settle today behind the pace and Willie may see him as his best chance against Bob with Ferny and Haut En Couleurs in the Arkle.

                        • Blue Lord looks a proper arkle horse. I think a clash at DRF looks probable.

Live how opinions differ! HEC is made for the JLT for me.

                            • Blue Lord won as he liked, I think he'll stick to 2 miles myself although I don't doubt he'd get the TNC trip. Hopefully we can see him out in a more informative race before the festival. I'm not on Blue Lord myself but he's definitely looking like one to be watching out for, especially if you've backed Ferny Hollow in this.

I think Turners for HEC as well but Arkle was named after his last race by Willie.
