WPM on Ferny - https://www.attheraces.com/news/2021...-al-boum-photo
He said: “Ferny Hollow is working out of his skin. He worked this morning and is in great form.
“He looks so strong, and I’m very happy with him. When he’s ready, we’ll find a race for him.
“He pulled muscles or ligaments or something in his hind end the day he took on Bob Olinger in Gowran, and it’s just taken all this time to come right.
“There doesn’t seem to be any bother with him now. He’s jumping well and galloping well.”
Sounds bullish

it was a suspected stress fracture in behind that didn’t show on X-ray as is normal.
they probably never knew for sure which would explain what Willie said but he obviously wasn’t right, although he did appear to be knocking about in the spring

I'm expecting to get shot down on this one - Skelton runs King Roland in the 14.00 at Warwick today, just moved to him, undergone wind surgery and he's won the race the past 2 years with Allmankind & Maire Banrigh. Both of those were highly thought of & aimed here. He's lower on ratings than those were at this stage (OR 138 vs 146 for Allmankind) & indeed would have a mountain to climb versus Appreciate It/Ferny etc. it seems... however I'd like to try get a live outsider in a race that coudl cut up numbers wise so have: 1. Asked Sky for a price win today & Arkle 2. Asked 365 to add to Arkle market. Anyone got any thoughts? Happy to be told to pipe down...

His novice second at Cheltenham was a brilliant effort - he came there travelling a dream but weakened out of it (think he got injured) so there's definitely an engine there but no idea which route he'd go down - maybe one for handicaps?
