Appreciate It’s time in the Supreme was 1.7secs off Honeysuckle’s, which is around 6.5L or 7L behind her, which is the gap Sharjah was behind in second.
So he would be competitive, if it ever came to it.
Most comforting thing re appreciate it is his price has taken a minor wobble on the exchange and that’s it, about half a point bigger to back than he was this morning. Seems very odd though and some clarity on it would be nice
The main thing for me was no entries at all, which we all know, just isn’t what WPM does at all. Surely just enter in both beginners at 2m and even 2m5f if needed (then decide after weather permitting).
Hopefully there isn’t anything else to it, I’ve made my bed in cashing. He’s a very similar price to the doubles/ trebles so it’s easy enough to go back in if needed.
What would you do Spectre if Jeff could easily pick up 2nd or 3rd in The Champion Hurdle or contest a hot looking Arkle with no guarantees of any prize money? Assume 8-10 runners in each race.
Crap myself probably!
I'd go to the Arkle, unless I genuinely thought there was a chance of winning the Champion Hurdle.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.
I've cashed out a couple of singles for AI just because the price isn't all that different to when I placed them, but kept doubles etc... where the prices have come in significantly on other legs. Experience tells us there's a high probability of some sort of set back, but by the same token perhaps not a serious one given cash out is still available, particularly B365 who seem to have been well ahead of the game more than ever this season. Correct me if I'm wrong but im sure they suspended CO on Ferny Hollow last season while the rumour mill was doing its stuff but weeks before news actually came out?
I've always been slightly concerned by how little we heard following AI's Punchestown set back, maybe they just want to ease him back in on proper, genuine soft ground. The guessing game is all part of the 'fun', isn't it? Isn't it?!
Yeah I saw that, sure he said something about David Casey being happy with him etc... I definitely got 'moving on swiftly...' vibes from it though.
Davy Casey was happy with Benie Des Dieux all throughout last season also. I’m almost certain mentioning David Casey liking a particular horse is secret code for that horse being in trouble Hope I’m wrong
Just curious, with AI's lack of christmas entry, how many people have hit the panic button and cashed bets and how many are standing firm?
I've cashed out singles, and some multiples which were breaking even. I've left 2 x multiples which have 'matured' through the shortening of others horses in the best. It's not just the lack of entry that worries me, it's that FH is treading the Arkle path too and that I still believe that Willie won't run both in the same race at Chlets.
