That’s the million dollar question……whichever one he runs out of AI and ferny. One of them will go to the marsh and blue lord comes here as the very decent second string imo.

….the ‘Special’ with Hills is now 25-1 from 33-1.

I know he’s been on the AWOL list but wouldn’t Haut en Coleurs be a leading Mullins candidate for the Turners (ex Marsh) ?

Does it make more sense to hold him back for next year now? Still only 4yo so could have a free go at a handicap this year and a full novice chasing year next year?

I've cashed the bet I had as Willie not used him with the allowances and can't see him getting much experience now to be a graded winner at the festival, unless he comes out and looks an absolute world beater in his maiden and beats them all in Dublin on his second start. Unlikely, and would still be a bet/price prior to any graded race anyway I reckon.
So I'd be concerned he's going to be hurdling now, like you.

              That seems very likely Odin

And almost definite if he doesn't run him in the Christmas-New Year period.

I don't disagree, that would make plenty of sense, but Mullins said in a stable tour that he's a big horse with the form to make a good chaser, true he didn't specifically say this season but he has been given entries in both the big Boxing Day novice chases at Limerick and Leopardstown...

                  • I was impressed with For Pleasure at Plumpton today. Only a Class 3 and a field of three, but he did it well. I made a case for him last year as a useful EW play in the Supreme and, with a bit of fortune, he returned on that. Several points I mentioned last season remain relevant now:
                    • Has good (course) form in the book, beating Third Time Lucki 3 3/4 lengths back in November '20. And now also has his Supreme 3rd.
                    • Looks to have a preference for going left-handed.
                    • Likes belting away from the front. Still does this and we know he'll put at least some of the field under pressure therefore.
                    • He's clearly identified as a two-miler rather than being between distances. I don't see any sign of him stepping up in trip.
                    • Has won on good, and soft.
He's available at 66s with cashout and 100s without. That's double what I suggested him at for the Supreme and I think there are worse EW shots in a race we all know will cut up.

I know won't be to some tastes but I think useful cover at this point and especially for those making a book(?)

                    Thoughts welcomed!

Would not be the first to win at Plumpton and go on and win the Arkle.
At the prices hes worth a go imo.
If he turns up he will almost certainly be shorter, and backing him should give you some excitement.
                      Cheers Evesham.

He did it nicely. I watched the interview afterwards and the owner seemed keen to have a crack at the Arkle but did say he'd go along with what Alex Hales decided.

The ?50k bonus might persuade them to go for the Grand Annual though.

He's one I took to last season as well and he duly obliged by placing in the Supreme at nice odds for backers.

I was going to back him for the Arkle but like Faugheen_Machine said I had the Grand Annual in the back of my mind too.

I felt Edwardstone would have beat him had he not fallen, the time they met and with the Irish also likely better, even only 5 or 6 runners I do feel he'd struggle to place this time around.

That said, you'll probably be ahead of the market on the day should he turn up, and if making a book may well be one get onside.

                          • ….For Pleasure did win impressively today, I looked immediately for an a/r price but the only one I can see is 12-1 with Sky which is hardly tempting.

There is a Sky RaB to win the Grand Annual @ 16-1 & another to win the Coral Cup @ 25-1.

                            • Eggs I was surprised when I just checked that Hills didn’t have him listed any race. Will check with them to see if they can list him. I’d have expected at least 20/1, but this year…

….yep, I was sure he’d be listed too. Watch this space, the 12-1 with Sky is dreadful but I suppose it fits with their 16-1 for GA.
