I can see her running a big race Ista especially if it's G/S. She's not had her ground all season and will appreciate dropping back below 2 miles. She would probably be unbeaten this season if all her races were the Arkle distance. Going to be very tight between them all. Wide open race.

The same guy that put up Bardenstown Lad leading to
his price collapse did the same with MD yesterday. Price cut was almost instant

Got beat at Cork by Concertista and Jeremy's Flame over just over 2m. Do you think the 100m less in the Arkle will really help her that much?

I can't see her getting an uncontested lead like she did at the last festival, which wouldn't help her IMO.

The better ground, the lesser distance, the course, the 7lbs allowance, Rachel, Henry's record with 2 milers at Cheltenham, Spring sunshine.............they'll all help. The race is up for grabs.

First chase of the festival and on totally fresh ground, should have things in her favour…

              She's no 50/1 shot that's for sure

She was injured in that race and came back sore after it.
Henry was disappointed she didn't win until he found out why.

Didn't hear that at the time. Thanks

Yep. Has to have a squeak in a wide open Arkle.

Will there be 3 places available on the day or are we looking at less than 8 runners? It's hard to weigh up from the exchanges.

As it's so open I think there'll be at least 8 which will be brilliant for on the day betting and the specials that bookies offer. Someone might even go 4 places on the day as it's anyone's race and bookies will win whatever. With that in mind it's best to wait now until the Tuesday imo.

Yes from memory she clouted the third fence and possibly another slow jump soon after....she didn’t get beat that far considering....I’d need to watch the race again but I recall her being very impressive over the first couple of fences and thinking she’d stolen a race winning advantage already and then it all went tits up. I am convinced without that momentum stopper at the third (I think) she wouldn’t have seen another horse.

edit..convinced is too strong ...perhaps confidently believe

I'm not so sure you know. Mullins has six of them. How many really run?

                          • To be fair if the Turners gets a Bob v GDC v L Presse shootout there could be a dozen here…

There's only 17 at the moment! Six are Mullins so surely few of them come out and at least four or five of the others look more likely to go Grand Annual
Probably a couple that wait for Aintree as well.

                              Single figures I reckon

                              • I think Riviere Detel is a fairly confident selection in this race.
Her form is very solid in comparison to others.
And to do what she did at Leopardstown against Ferny Hollow and then again vs Blue Lord shows she really has a good heart.

To make a flat footed mistake and stop dead at the last, after the solid pace they went set by Saint Sam, and to be able to recover and almost get up from a near standing start was super encouraging and I'd give her a few pounds credit for that for sure.

She jumps pretty well overall and whilst I respect Edwardstone and Blue Lord and indeed some of the less proven types, she looks the one to beat and should be favourite IMO.
I think the only reason she isn't is because of her age.
