In general, I'm sure you'd lose money backing single figure ante-post handicap favourites two weeks out though, it's just the ones that shorten and win that stick in the mind which makes FOMO a factor for people
This is true, virtually all the current handicap favourites are too short and will likely be bigger between now and the day, even if form lines tie up. The markets are simply much more liquid and volumes massively more. Therefore more competition.
There will be the odd one or two over the preview circuit that will shorten and the odd injury or defection will keep some short but other than that I'd expect the vast majority to be bigger.

Can easily see races like the pertemps going 10-1 Fav's. And the brown looks similar to me. Novice chase too.

SP's will be a different matter alltogether.

...speaking at the weights launch, I think it’s trainer said it was a pity he wasn’t running in the Novice Handicap.

You are in complete control of the yankee. Your decision is final. If you want to do win only, each way, get people to vote, pick it all youself, pick ones with nice colours - it's all fine. (As long as it's only horses running on the Thursday )

                YOU decide. We follow.

Deadline for the yankee is Sunday 8th March, 18:00 (to allow everybody time to get on)

                    For an e/w yankee:

Ronald Pump w/o Paisley - stayers
                    Fitzhenry - KM
                    Imperial Presence - Plate
                    Third Wind - Pertemps

RP should finish top 4 at least to get the place part and could easily finish best of the rest.

Fitzhenry is ultra consistent and should again place at least.

The other two are slightly bigger prices but I think they are the races we should be looking at for each way value.

In the Plate we want something that will be prominent and IP is a big price.

Third Wind has the right profile for the race.

If we want one in the Mares novice, Concertista is a good each way shout. Course form, lots of experience in big fields and she might go out in price on the day when the once a year punters ignore her for not having a string of 1s in her form.

                        Has that hangover killed you?

Or you just treating the rules with gay abandon?

Apologies all, I’ve been out playing golf and a 4 hr round turned into nearly 6 looking for plugged balls!! I should have posted before I left this morning....

Anyway after a lot of thought and consideration my Fat Jockey Yankee for Thursday 2020 follows

Leg 1: Itchy Feet - very impressive in its 2 chases this season and being fully committed to this race since his last win at Sandown whilst other trainers have been undecided. I think he a solid selection. I think this race will cut up and a small field may turn out so would want him on board for 3 places now at a decent price of 5/1.

Leg 2: Welsh Saint - I am a big believer in name association and with it recently being St David’s Day and being owned by a Welsh man called Dai it’s got to be fate!! Nicky Henderson doesn’t enter many horses in the Pertemps and the last few runnings of this race have been won by progressive hurdlers I think Welsh Saint fits this profile. He had to win his last race to qualify and did it impressively and Nicky Henderson thinks it’s a very talented horse.

Leg 3: Oldgrangewood - The Plate has been won by progressive second season novices for the past few years and this horse has been brilliant this year winning over C&D this season. I’m amazed his at the foot of the weights on what he has achieved and at 14/1 is a great bet.

Leg 4: Fitzhenry - Liked by many on the thread, a great trainer/owner and probably a great jockey on board. Finished very strongly only to be denied on the line by Roaring Bull. He’s been primed for this race and the best of the JP runners and will be a very popular winner. I was planning on having Bob Marhler but I don’t think Humble Pie would forgive me!!

                          13.30 - Itchy Feet
                          14.10 - Welsh Saint
                          16.10 - Oldgrangewood
                          17.30 - Fitzhenry

An each way Yankee. Good luck everyone and thank you for all your contributions
