Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Also think he's a player in this. The softer ground on day 1 is sure to help

    • Some forget that Discorama actually was gonna beat Chris's Dream last year until he fell at the last and Ballyward ended up winning that race. And now if you look at Chris's Dream's form since its looking good. And also gave Champagne Classic 5lbs when 3 length 2nd to that horse not so long ago and now Champagne Classic is now rated 151. Yes last year they had the same weights and yes he came 2nd but I honestly think he would of won if the trip was 3m instead of 4m when it was an absolute tiring slog last year.

      • He was also 2nd in the MCP after being set an incredible amount to do by his young rider. The horse isn't slow. Paul Nolan said he's had a wind operation since last being seen.

        • Alpha des Obeaux: top weight, Irish trained, 10yrs old.... should have no chance....but I can't help myself. Can't forget how he ran behind Thistlecrack back in 2016 and I thought he was going on to big things. I have to have some e/w on him at 20s.

Is his best form, 4 years ago, over hurdles, and he got beaten?

Beaten by a horse who, at the time, was a freak.

Maybe it's the romantic in me but I think he's got one more big race in him

                • ADO burst blood vessels in his RSA and hasn’t been the same since, he’s one who I used to back blind but I’ve finally seen the light

                    Perhaps.

I followed and backed him plenty since that 2nd place behind Thistlemonster.

It didn't pay. I don't expect it will again in the Ultima.

If he is being lined up to win a big race, it's a National of some sort... in my opinion.

                    • Had a quiet day today so went through the stats. Looked at 45 horses with entries using gaultstats. Came out with 3 stand outs on the stats.

                      Kildisart
                      Talkischeap
                      Brave Eagle

Notable mentions to Mister Malarky and Jarveys Plate and maybe Lord Du Mesnil.

That one race might be the Grand National

                        Looks made for it

Bit similar to Rule The World

                        • Lake View Lad - misses Cheltenham and goes straight to the National, as many predicted on here. Also has a sinus problem

                            Grrr.

                            Source please.

I think every horse I've 'chanced' without NRNB has come out so far

                            • It was reported on racing t.v Kev , today .
Eased down because of a sinus problem.
But should not affect it's grand national chances .

                              • Mister Malarky

"Runs in the Ultima Handicap Chase. He did it really nicely at Kempton. He is in good form and it's great to see him come back to form. It just wasn't happening for him in the first half of the season, but he has turned a corner now and we are very happy with him. He went up 4lb for winning at Kempton, so he is near the top of the handicap in the Ultima. He should be competitive off that and hopefully there is more to come. He just came right at the turn of the year. He's got good Cheltenham form, was fourth in the RSA last year and he has come out of Kempton really well. It is one of the most competitive races of the week, but he deserves to take his chance in it - he will grow into be a Grand National type next year."
