Seems to me that Daly is just being honest with us, I for one am quiet happy with that.
I do want him to run for bets already placed, plus I do genuinely think he’s the most likely winner.
Those yet to place a bet however are aware he may not run because of Daly comments.
That’s fair to me.

I get your point about him being honest but when i hear trainers saying these things i'd quite like to hear more about the reasoning behind the indecision, is it that he needs more time to develope his jumping,is it the opposition ?

See my post.he has explained the reason very clearly...the fall at Cheltenham meant they had to run him closer to the festival than they wanted to giving him only 3 weeks to get back to tip top form. So far everything seems ok but they just want to be sure he is 100% ready and they have told us this almost every day.... again I’m not sure what more people expect. What else would you like from him...genuine question?

The trainer has also stated that while his jumping can be improved and has also told us he is currently working on his jumping he is not overly concerned by it as it doesn’t lose him momentum as he gets back into his rhythm surprisingly quickly for such a big horse.

He has stated very clearly that the fall at Cheltenham meant they have had to run him closer to the festival than ideal. They want to go to Cheltenham but will not do so unless they feel the horse is completely ready to do himself justice. If they do not they will wait for Aintree.He has also told us when the decision will be made (end of this week after discussion with Mr Meacher). The trainer has also informed us of the two races under consideration and has all but ruled out the Ballymore. He has kept us updated on the horse almost daily ( excuse the pun) I can’t think of a scenario less like Willie tbh ....what am I missing for him to be judged so harshly?

You've got to think logic will prevail with Hillcrest, and if he's seems fit and ready to run at the declaration stage, then you run him at Cheltenham.
You're favourite for a grade 1 and the Irish challenge looks fairly weak in depth of format least.
And anything could happen on the gallops before Aintree.
Unless you want to wait patiently of course, and come out with daft targets a couple of years down the line.

Yep it’s always dangerous to read between the lines but if they weren’t very keen to run him at Cheltenham they would have ruled him out already imo. I am ridiculously ocd superstitious so that prevents me from typing what I really want to.

Edit just read A.Bert Bartlett thread ...that’s exactly what I was too superstitious to write ....I would be amazed if they didn’t run....so the trainer has informed us even earlier than he committed to ...fair fucking play I say.
