Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

Would need to keep his 140 mark after his prep run to be on for the Imperial-Pipe double off top-weight 145.

The BHA haven’t produced a Jumps Pattern with race conditions since 2019-20 so I don’t know if it’s possible to run in the Pipe with a 5lb penalty taking you above 145.
Last year’s race conditions below. I read this as, if he won the Imperial Cup of 145 then he still only carry a max of 11st 10 Ibs. Perhaps the weight of the other entrants would move downwards.

?70,000 Total Prize Fund. New Course, Cheltenham, 5.30pm, Friday, March 13, two miles and four and a half furlongs (2m 4f 56yds). For four-year-olds and upwards rated 0-145. Penalties: after February 23, a winner of a hurdle race 5lb. No penalty to increase a horse’s weight above 11st 10lb. Entries closed February 18 (156 entries), weights revealed February 26. Six-day confirmation stage March 7, final declaration stage 10.00am, Wednesday, March 11.”

    • Good investigation CNC. Sounds like he'd still get in off 11-10 even if he won the Imperial Cup.

How many have you? If we're basing the right to an opinion on being a successful trainer that neuters your thoughts too right?

I suspect SDM would settle for that if it meant all opinions were void including his other than Hendos. But it’d be a pretty vanilla forum

He also knows how to plot them so he’ll have a shot at at least a couple of Handicaps. Most likely being Langer Dan.

I’m not saying he will win 3; I’m saying I can see it.

…Ladbrokes quote 16-1 Langer Dan for MP, it’s 14-1 in Hills TWAR market.

Thanks, Eggs. I had a bit of 16/1 with Sky who have it in the RAB section too. Will also have a little on the TWAR just in case target changes.

I think if he proves his health and form in January he'll be a very popular choice for the Pipe, but any horse who has a significant setback that forces him/her out for the first half of the season is a risk and waiting for his reappearance might be the smart play, especially as his targets are handicaps he'll likely be given a very gentle introduction and one or two might see a run down the field as a negative...

I know she’s got fans on here but imo the hype around her by far outweighs anything she has ever achieved on the track, and that’s without then factoring in a pretty lengthy absence! Can’t believe she’s fav for the mares hurdle, so many I’d rather back at this stage

I know Andy Holding was mad about her last year, due to the time figure she put up on her last run.

                        • Nube Negra is being put away until March. Third Time Lucki will go to the Kingmaker next whilst Protektorat will have one more run before the Gold Cup, but that won't be the Savills or Cotswold.

Mistake by Skelton bringing him back so quickly for the Tingle but at least he acknowledges it. Clearly ran flat and has always performed to his maximum after a long break. He'll be thereabouts in the CC.
They know now how NOT to ride TTL. Best to find that out before March !
Potektorat has to be a player now in the GC.

                            • It doesn't really leave many options for Protektorat, presuming they aren't going to drop him in trip again. Irish Gold Cup (I can't see it) or the Denman, where he'd be facing Clan who is owned by 2/3 of the same group. I can't see that happening either!

I don't think Dan Skelton will ever learn how to ride them properly. Tactical awareness and timing is embarrassing for a top jockey.
