  • Willie Mullins 2020 Festival

I think Willie Mullins is in for his worst Cheltenham festival for many years. I could see him getting between zero and two winners.

It wont be any coincidence that its his first recent Festival without Ruby 'add on 7lb' Walsh the greatest jockey in the history of the festival.

If you close your eyes towards the end of each race, then you will definitely see him have no winners.

Its like Manchester United. No matter who replaced Sir Alex Fergusson they were always destined to fail.

Ruby was the greatest big race jockey of all time, you should not underestimate what it means to not have him on top.
Townsends a top jockey but hr isnt Ruby Walsh.

Nicholls struggled for festival winners after losing Ruby and Mullins doesnt have his usual strong looking hand. He is going to find it tough this year.

That would be his strongest chance I would imagine though its not going to be the worlds biggest surprise if something beats her.
If she goes down he is on for the zero.

He’d be long odds on to win the Mares Novice too. 5-6 winners for me!

He had a far stronger hand going into the last 2 festivals. He hasnt got the horses and he hasnt got Ruby Walsh this time.

What your stats fail to show is that Ruby got injjured on day 2 of the festival when falling on Al Boum Photo in the RSA and missed the rest of the festival giving Townsend and others the prime chances.

The same prime chances they have this year. 6 favourites and 3 second favourites in most ante-post books.

The difference is he had the horses before and they deserved to be short in the market. He is weaker this year. They are pricing him up on his reputation not his actual horses. He is weak this time.
