Tellmesomethinggirl and A Plus Tard would be my picks for HDB with targets almost assured.

      From what I read, SW highlights 5 specific races Elliott has farmed in recent times (NHC; XC; Pertemps; Kim Muir; Triumph). Not all are priced up, but of those he seems to come strongly down on;

Run Wild Fred (NHC) 12-1 365
Galvin (XC) 12-1 365 (appreciate this race is not widely priced up)

They would be my suggestions for the Elliott selections although SW might not concur.

I do suggest we follow SW advice and put together an Elliott Super Yankee later in the year which includes those 5 races. Be good if Middle_Of_March can keep this in mind.
      I like that, Eggs.

Remember Middle_Of_March has said this months Yankee will comprise of combined selections from Elliott & HdB.

Another one for Gordon Ellliott...Hollow Games. I know it's been briefly touched on but I think at 33/1 it's definitely worth considering for the Albert Bartlett.

Won a P2P over 3 miles (very few horses finished but the ones it did beat was by a distance). 2 convincing wins last season over 2 miles without getting out of second gear. Looks sure to get a step up in trip. Also described by Jamie Codd as "very, very good" - remember his past comments about Labaik winning the Supreme and Bob Olinger being a god given cert for the Ballymore, I think he's one of the good guys when it comes to listening to connections. 33/1 is a good value.

I quite like Party Central in the Mares novice hurdle. 4 runs in bumpers last season 2 wins and 2 seconds. One of those seconds being beaten a neck by Grangee but finishing 4 lengths in front of Brandy Love in the grade 2 bumper at the Dublin racing Festival. She won her last bumper and seems a fair price at 25-1.

I like Hollow Games, made a case for him as one for the future last season (and backed him for the bumper) after his P2P, but I struggle to fit him into a category with a view to hurdling. Whilst his victories have been good I do wonder what level he will reach. He does have some stamina in his pedigree, but personally think he'll be best suited over an intermediate trip, and I wonder if he'll be campaigned for a handicap like the Pipe. Time will tell, but he is most definitely one to keep tabs on.

This is possibly going to be even more likely this season than any other. Gordon needs his name in lights and finishing 3rd in an Albert Bartlett is less likely to float his boat than winning the Pipe.

Unlike Henry, I'm not sure you can pin a single Gordon Elliott horse down to any one race.

Obviously the big problem is that Gordon has an absolute army of potential handicap jobs usually, so finding the right horse is easier said than done usually

Looking at the Gordon and Henry 2x2 split idea the ones I would pick that are double figure prices are

                        Bet365 prices

                        Gordon
Gars De Sceaux - 40/1 National Hunt Chase
One of Gordon’s key races (The Golden Pentagon - for those that have read the Gordon Elliott Diary).
Run Wild Fred is a key one for him in the race, but we’ve had him in an earlier Yankee, and Gordon will have a few in mind to try to route here as the season starts.

Novice Hurdle form 211- OR 142, RPR 148
Won a 2M7F Novice Hurdle by 9L on his last start.

From the family of Bristol De Mai, and sire Saddler Makers best horses include BDM, Discorama (btn Nose in the NHC) and stayer Alpha Des Obeaux.

He is going to be a decent quality staying novice chaser.

                        Grand Paradis - 25/1 RSA/Festival Novice Chase
Novice Hurdle form 411-, OR 146, RPR 150

Only missed Cheltenham because he was so impressive in a Grade 3 Novice Hurdle (2M5F), winning by 13L that he was too high for the his target the M.Pipe (by 1lb)

Gordons best chance of a Novice Chase star, I believe he could be campaigned for the RSA (his dam is an unraced half-sister to Welsh National winner Raz De Mee).
Will probably want to miss the race at Cheltenham that Bob Olinger runs in.

                        Henry
                        A Plus Tard - 10/1 Gold Cup
Speaks for itself, close runner-up in the Gold Cup aged 7, in March, on his only second start at 3M or more.
Excellent horse, beat Chacun PS over 2M, and won the 3M Grade 1 Savills Chase last December on his first start over 3M.

Needs to go Left-handed, has ran extremely well at the Festival for the last 3 years.

Gin On Lime - 20/1 Mares Chase
The new novice chasing Mare having the biggest early season impact.

                        Novice Chase form 24/1112

Two runs last autumn, as a 4yo, didn’t run again until this summer, won twice at 2M4F and once at 2M2F before a staying on again runner-up over 2M2F, beaten 1L in a Grade 3, carrying a 7lb penalty, when taking on the unpenalised winning gelding.

Could try to be PTKO-mark2, but I think it’s more likely she will come here.

True, Mullins Bingo is an often used phrase on social media but second guessing Gordon Elliott can prove just as tricky. He has a good few potential horses to go to war with (I've backed Gerri Colombe for the Ballymore and he still has Grand Paradis which was fav for last seasons Martin Pipe at one point, amongst others). With Jamie Codd waxing lyrical about Hollow Games it made me think that he's seen as much better than running in handicaps long term (I know the Martin Pipe is often a stepping stone for future graded winners) and that GE will run the race best suited for his horses. Whether that's the spud race or not is another thing but at 33s I am willing to take a chance. Hopefully the bookies goes NRNB in January next time rather than late like this year as I would be able to cover the Pipe just in case.
