  • August Forum Yankee

With this the last proper month before some jumps are back, it’ll be another themed Yankee.

Going to go with the second of our two trainer yankees. So this will be a Gordon Elliott yankee (or whoever is operating his yard come March).

Not that I can get the price but 16/1 Run Wild Fred NH Chase has to represent probably the best value available of all horses quoted for the festival.
He’d be my first Elliot horse on the list….

Do we expect any horses to move back to Elliott's?

        Galvin, I would imagine.

Cheveley Park, I would think not.

Grand Paradis was an Elliott horse I was looking forward to. I think if he goes chasing then it'd be a solid backup bet to Galopin des Champs in the RSA. 25/1.

It's pretty tough to find four horses for an Elliott Yankee to be honest. Assuming it's an each way yankee though I'd probably go with the following:

Run Wild Fred - National Hunt Chase
            Galvin - Cross County
            Stayers Hurdle - Abacadabras
Three Stripe Life - Albert Bartlett
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Yep, with Cheveley Park removing their horses it’s a big ask for Elliott to have four non handicap winners, but a double in the yankee will pay OK…

…a HdB Yankee might have more scope at this stage of the year given his achievements in March/April.

Agree. Henry is likely to be Mullins biggest threat in the graded races for some time now. Gordon will need to concentrate even more on the handicaps to have successful spring Festivals.

Year of rebuilding for Gordon I think. Will still be dangerous in the handicaps

I couldnt find 4 Gordon Elliott horses to win without handicaps - so maybe it could be two and two with Henry,

or 3 from Henry plus Run Wild Fred.

I agree you’ve got run wild fred and galvin then maybe one of his potential Albert Bartlett horses. Without the handicaps it’s impossible.
