I don’t think any recent winners have gone on to do the double and a lot of the more recent winners ran in novice races at the Festival instead.

Could be a lot of runners or placed horses that went on to run well in the County though. That task is too epic for me though.

All Ten Handicap Race Entries close Tuesday 18th February, entries released the following day, and weights are one week after that, on Wednesday 26th February.

I have the two dates in my google calendar on my phone so I’m on it, as soon as they come out.

What is everybody else on - I need a starting point
Protektorat , The cashel man ( probably not after fridays result ) and interested in Sebastopol .

              • Hmm, price gone for Protektorat and was never really that keen whilst he's been highlighted here so I'll let him pass.

Usually I fancy loads in this race ... so many angles with novices, horses stepping up in trip, others coming down.

I'll have a proper look after Tuesday I suppose

                • Yes , probably best to wait until wednesday now.
At least we'll know who's in the frame for each h/cap race.

Is not a week on Thursday BC when entries are announced?

I did a bit of research a couple years ago and got all win/placed in betfair over 20 years 32% went on to win/place at fest..its somewhere on the 2018 threads..

                        • Im hoping Bachasson gets an entry here as that will be my pick.

Weirdly, if this is to be his first run of the season I would be even more confident in the selection. Theres something about Mullins sending one to the festival without a prep run that really makes me take notice.

                            Certainly left field.

Problem with horses currently not quoted is when they get introduced they can be shorter than you'd have hoped.

                            Fingers crossed.

                            • generally not in handicaps tho.. quite a few went to the supreme .. those stats would be reflective of the strong novice performance at Newbury ..take out Ballyandy, Tent, Kalshk ,

                              • My Coral cup fancy Bachasson out today. Running through horses at the top of the market for todays race, its quite easy to be against many of them and make a case for Bachasson who has a decent first time up record. However, who knows how revved up Bachasson is for todays race.
                                Interesting race none the less
