Thanks BB, one of those I thought I'd have a look at tomorrow....888 to the rescue, still 20s

I was on the trigger as soon as the raced finished today. The markets are getting into silly season now so you have to be quick or risk losing the price. Bet365 still haven’t reinstated a price yet!

        • I quite like Stratum for this. Do you think he will turn up here?

            • Protektorat (+5) to 144. Not ideal but I’d think it keeps him competitive.

              • Got protektorat on my radar for this.

                  I’ve backed Stratum.
You won’t hear his chances talked up though, Bloomy will do everything to allow his horse to slip under the radar whist his team take advantage of whatever /wherever they can get on, but the less I hear the more I like it...

While the profile of a Bloom handicap horse makes him interesting, i can't see anything in his form that makes him appealing. Unless you look at his flat form which seems to be where he runs his best races.

                    • That’s exactly where I’m looking Jack.
Penhill’s flat form was far superior to anything he achieved over timber before his potato win...

He did bolt up when first stepped upto 3miles at Limerick. Probably the step up in trip that was the main factor?

Interesting shout though as Stratum has some decent form when trying a middle distance trip over hurdles....could finally click come March!

Ouch. Thats more than I was expecting - wonder if Skelton will start crying again!

I don't think he'll complain as he'll get a nice racing weight still.

                            • I think he will be really nicely handicapped for this off that and as such gone back in on Protekorat today at 16/1, really like everything about his profile and style of running for this, the faster they go the better for him.

Great racing weight and the conditions of the race will really suit. 5lbs for finishing 3rd seemed a bit steep for me but having already backed him I certainly wont be throwing my slip away!
