Good evening guys and girls. Welcome to the inaugural Fat Jockey ante-post tipping competition. There will be 2 different competition, this antepost one where all selections must be posted here by 9pm on Sunday 19th January, and a competition much closer to the time where all selections will need to be in by the Sunday before the festival (I will create a new thread for that closer to the time). For those that haven't seen Ista's thread or just need a reminder, the rules are as follows:
Everybody who enters will pick one horse for each race of the festival (please copy the template at the bottom of my post). Your selection will can score points for coming anywhere fourth or better, the scoring system is as follows:
Successfully pick a winner earns 10 points
Second 5 points
Third 3 points
Fourth 1 point.
Bonus for each winner equal to a level £1 stake on that selection. (all prices will be taken as the best price on Oddschecker at 9pm on Sunday (not including exchanges) when I finalise everyone's selections. e.g If Saldier is selected in the ante post comp and the best price of 8/1 is available on Sunday 19th Jan, the bonus earned would be 8 points if Saldier won the Champion Hurdle.
All non-runners will score zero points.
I will provide daily updates on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings with an up to date leaderboard. The winner will be announced on Saturday as I am out drinking on Friday and will be in no fit state to do this on Friday night
The competition is open to every member presuming that selections are posted here before the deadline. No entries can be edited once submitted. There is no entry free as unfortunately we are not allowed to do paid competitions. The winner of each competition can have a change in title on their profile for a year to represent their success.
