Shewearsitwell the obvious one if we're right about Echoes In Rain heading to the Champion Hurdle. I doubt Willie would send two mares to the big one. It was suggested that Willie thought she was good enough to go close in a Supreme, so combined with her breeding she's be a leading chance here with the obvious plus that we now she's been back in training and her setback was minor.

Telmesomethinggirl tried over three miles at Punchestown puts me off her slightly, although I do have her backed.

The Glancing Queen is overlooked stepped up to two and a half in mares company.

And of course Concertista may be good enough anyway. Of the mares mentioned I only really see Shewearsitwell as having the potential to be better.

A XC campaign like Tiger Roll's is perfect for him next season. Send him over in Oct/Nov and hunt him around out the back for experience, run him in a hurdle in Feb, win the XC after the National weights are out, and then win the National a stone plus well in. His chances of winning those two races are far greater than him being good enough to win a Gold Cup, and Gordon will know it.

The fact that you feel he was a grade above Tiger Roll also makes him pretty compelling if they go the XC/GN route.

It's worth getting some money down in my opinion. If he opens up with a race elsewhere you'll still be able to cashout, but if he gets an entry in either of the XC chases this side of Christmas he'll be unbackable for March in an instant.
All makes sense Spectre, I don’t however have the benefit of cashout so I need a degree of certainty on target with my ante post investments but you make a good case….

Yes of course. I forgot you don't have cashout Istabraq.

I wouldn’t dismiss Galvin in a Gold Cup but, as you say, the National appears the end target so it’s unlikely they’ll want a gruelling Gold Cup 3 weeks before Aintree.
If they were playing properly the Hennessy would look to be an ideal early season target with a good pot but his mark would be shot after a good effort there.
As a third season chaser he has plenty of experience so he might be seen over hurdles to protect his mark, the more I think about it the more your XC theory adds up bit I just see him being better than XC horses and, if allowed to take his chance, he should have a G1 in him this season…

Thinks if this months turns into a Mullins Yankee next month should be a Elliott Yankee and we should do them again in a few months time when there horses are out and running to see what we have missed. But if we do that do we do two de bromhead's?

Won’t be doing two of the same trainer yankees tbh. Quite happy making July and August specific trainers though.

Id suggest this one being a normal yankee. I’ve not posted much recently as been on a bit of a social media break and FJ got caught amongst all that. Keep going with the nominations folks and I’ll have the Yankee up as usual on the 2nd or 3rd. Plenty of good points made already. Incredible to think this is the 4th one (a third of the years yankees done already!)

….so far this year we’ve had 3 Yankees which have included 3 separate selections for the Stayers and 2 for the Marsh. Perhaps we should avoid these races for the next few months.

I'm going to through Fakir d'Oudairies for the Ryanair at 12-1 into consideration.

Obviously he's got a lot to reverse with Allaho. But - based on his runs last season - you'd have to think connections will run him over 2m4f. Many of the other market leaders have questions over their target (even Allaho). He's still young with solid course form. I think there is a decent chance he will be a fair bit shorter than current odds in March 2022 and have a live chance.

….a bit speculative, but I actually like Greaneteen for the Ryanair. Spreadeagled a fine field on its last run but what struck me was Bryony Frost gushing ‘this will be some horse next year over 2.4m’.

As low as 12-1 with 365, its 20-1 with PP/Betfair.

Was a nice performance but what tempers my enthusiasm is the fact he's not trained in Ireland !
