They went super early last year due to the threat of covid and the Irish horses participation at the festival I believe

          • Does anyone know what the Permission to Lay limit is over the counter for NRNB bets at Hills?

Also, does anyone know what the limit is for NRNB singles on the terminals?

I’m not sure of the limits as such but the machines have been terrible to get on this time round… I’ve struggled to get ?20 on short trebles that return sub ?200

i also got told by staff that time of the day makes a difference- first thing on a Saturday morning will be limited more than a Saturday afternoon because they don’t want you trying to beat SP.. even tho Ante Post bets aren’t really relevant to that

My advice, working in a bookies till recently, don’t OTC your antepost bet because you will almost instantly be monitored if you’re having any worthwhile amount. Try and get what you can on the terminal because that doesn’t signal to monitor to the staff. So you could have the bet, hop to the next terminal wait a few mins and have the same bet again

Thanks for the advice. I imagine it's a bit subjective and varies shop to shop but roughly what kind of stakes/liabilities are usually triggers to start monitoring a customer?

As far as I’m aware, Lads/Corals and W Hill is all ?200 or if you place multiple OTC bets ante post they will flag up to security and they will request a monitoring which means every bet you have will be monitored and if you start getting good prices winnings you will be restricted asap. But it’s very hard for them to do that with the terminals, so definitely try to stick to those

the terminals in each shop are linked as though they’re one account. You have to wait a few hours at least before placing the same bet on a different terminal rather than a few mins
