What are the odds on anyone actually reaching the first fence - never mind the second circuit?!

I’d planned to do odds on this but was struggling to understand the rules (I do get them now thankfully) as well as being very busy doing my dissertation.

I get the feeling nobody winning the race would be long odds on (1/5 ish) because this looks incredibly difficult. I’d be delighted to even get through the first week!

Maybe 2 (or even 3) days without a winner would be a better ratio for refusing to race or slipping up.

Have to say I'm a bit surprised at the number of players who haven't had even one winner today, but if we'd had forty taking part we may have had more players left. First time I've tried this type of competition of course, so it was really a case of seeing how it evolved, I don't usually change rules once competitions have started, usually changing them for the next time if it's merited, but given some have obviously forgotten it started today and may turn up tomorrow as I've sent them reminders and of course missing one day doesn't disqualify anyone, I'm incline to agree with archie so in order to make this a bit more competitive we'll say not finding a winner on the first TWO days is deemed left at start. Therefore those of us who failed dismally can have one more day to find the necessary winner(s) and can try to start again tomorrow.

I've extended the no winner rule to TWO consecutive days later on in the race as well. We'll see how we go.
