I’ll be watching this one as the season progresses…
How can one find out what he ran off in this last year?

Finished 10 lengths back…can see why the Skelton’s would try it.

    • He ran off 141 in last years pertemps so looks like he should be able to run off a few lbs less next year if this is the plan. Qualified now so plenty of time for decisions.

        • He's entered in a beginners chase at Naas tomorrow Zach, and there's a good chance he'll get a run you'd think.

Gordon very possibly could protect his mark with runs in a couple of novice chases and then bring him back with one run over hurdles or straight to the Festival over hurdles. He's got the talent and the mark to be a player if that was the plan.

I have him on my watchlist because of his mark over hurdles, so I was intrigued with his chase entry and how they may exploit the hurdles mark in the future without ruining it with a chase mark that supersedes it. My best guess would be he wont be winning a novice chase even if he runs in them, and they'll go back novice chasing later. If I'm wrong about that I'll strike him off my list because the UK handicapper can use it against him, and Gordon wouldn't take that chance. Essentially he won't be a plot, and he's likely to have a full season chasing. Whatever theories I have I wouldn't be taking a RaB at 12's about him anyway, specifically because you'd get that kind of price with six places on entry when the bookies price the handicaps in Jan/Feb.

Don't think I've seen this horse mentioned anywhere, maybe I'm over thinking this but could this be a stable plot since isn't Elliott a "betting yard"
Not one to touch at the moment
            IMHO.

Someone would've asked the price of it hoping for 33/1, but only got offered 12/1, and left it alone.

He should be bigger than that to "Win Any Race" let alone a specific handicap hurdle.

I've asked Skybet a few times for RAB prices, a
on Twitter, they'd price up more or less anything.

RAB's are full of poor value bets with a few at decent value dotted around.

You would get better than that in January/February when bookmakers go "Non Runner No Bet".

As well as getting a bigger price, you would also get your money back if he didn't run.

Gordon likes to give his horses course experience so thought it was significant he brought him over for the qualifier. He’s had a few runs already this season, so can put him away ready for March now.
Took the 28/1 boost - thanks

              • Look me in the eye and tell me torygraph isn’t Gordon’s Kim muir horse This year.

Praying he gets in tomorrow as he won’t be trying if he does.

                    • What was the whole idea of running chemical energy in the 12.40 at naas today..he won at 2m 4f easy enough and today was 2miles he looks a level below my mate mozzie and so makes me think hes going to be plotted for something? Thoughts

He was very well backed today so someone (the stable?) thought they had a right chance against MMM. I think they'll be going back up in trip though.

Yes. Gordon confirmed afterwards that he’d be stepping back up to 2 and a half.

How is he going to stay under 145 come March, 147 before yday and at least ran to that. He was 149(Uk) in the coral cup and I Can't see him losing 5lbs over next couple runs given his light profile(quick to go up but not down etc)
