Yes I spotted he was entered Sax. If Skelton was serious though I suspect he'd have had a prep somewhere first though. Maybe a spin for experience around HQ if he runs, and then plotted for targets later in the season.

He was well backed yesterday too.
I think a tipster put him up as being from the right stable and therefore could cope with a lack of a run.

Get where you're coming from re later dates though.

      • Do you know who put him up? Sometimes it can be important.

          • I'm not aware of any links she'd have with the Skelton's so, unless anyone can tell me otherwise, I'm inclined to ignore it as significant.

            • I keep looking at the Pertemps....is anyone tempted to take 25/1 e/w on Tullybeg - even though it means betting with V Bet at this early stage for a handicap, but I just keep looking at the stats and he's looking good in my eyes....

              Age 6, Cheltenham experience, has 3 m experience (2 x 1st & 1 2nd) Trained by Gordon....

Is he still exposed enough as he has had 9 hurdle races so far and it will be at least ten before Cheltenham.

Is he the Elliot horse for this race?

Coral also have him at 25s, I took him in a mini Yankee with Ferny Hollow (Arkle - already looks dead), Tellmesomethinggirl (Mares) and American Mike (Bumper - looks pretty good now). I'm intrigued by the angle that the Irish horses may get qualified early with less qualifiers and the Gordy may want to outwit the handicapper given his treatment of The Bosses Oscar last year, but it's most likely that his Pertemps horse will qualify at Xmas so I'll be looking out for that one as well.

                • Uhtred declared to run on Saturday.
Still a novice but rising 7 so not convinced he'll be seen as a Supreme or Ballymore horse, my guess is JOB will look after him and he'll target the County or Coral Cup...

I backed him after he won at Cheltenham 28/1 boosted with Ladbrokes.

Gordon likes to give his horses course experience so thought it was significant he brought him over for the qualifier. He’s had a few runs already this season, so can put him away ready for March now.

                    • Was having a look through the sky RaB's and found this

Coqolino to win the Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle - 12/1

Don't think I've seen this horse mentioned anywhere, maybe I'm over thinking this but could this be a stable plot since isn't Elliott a "betting yard"

Was tipped up by Andrew Blair White on the Let’s Talk Racing pod I think a couple of weeks ago. Reckon someone has put a request in off the back of that.

                          • Spiritofthegames beaten 6l into 4th, qualifies and that run probably enough to get another pound off his back.
I’ll be watching this one as the season progresses…

                              Probably that then

                              • Imperial Alcazar could be one for the Ultima, if he runs on Hennessy weekend in that 3m Novice chase and places then I will have him on the list.
