  • Those comments seem pretty nailed on for the marsh or mares chase unfortunately

What I do trust thought is the trainer, he appears to be half decent placing and more importantly going for the bigger races despite what people say. If Magic Daze disappoints, and he's left with one mare to shoot at the fez, wouldnt not suprise me if they went for the arkle
Or run Bob Olinger in it.

      • De Bromhead, “She was brilliant and I’m delighted for Robbie on his first ride back. It’s great to see him back, and to do it as well as she did - brilliant.

“She’s been great for us and we’ve had some season with her. She was a little bit unlucky in Galway, but otherwise it’s been faultless.

She seemed to like the return to two and a half miles - I think that’s more her trip. Coming here I was hoping that, if we ran well here, we might look at the two-and-a-half-mile at Cheltenham in November, and then I’d say we’ll put her away.”
And I wonder why he hoped for that?
The Mares Chase here we come.
Robcour have Magic Daze and Bob Olinger as more probabl for the Arkle than Gin On Lime.

After 7 Chase runs she has the same amount of chasing experience as both Elimay (4 chases) and Colreevy (3 chases) had combined when they lined up for the Mares Chase in March.

A plan well hatched by Henry, and he is already aiming to give her experience at the racecourse in November.

I’m already booked in for that meeting, really looking forward to seeing Gin On Lime sail over the fences at Prestbury Park.

He’s loaded! Options, never a bad thing unless you’re an antepost punter

          • I know it's different distances, which could be a factor, but a thought I had whilst walking the dog tonight was..

'What kind of signs must magic daze be showing at home for them to suggest that she was the superior animal on that twitter thread?'

Hopefully we will find out soon, but fun to wonder until then!

Its a good field on Tuesday - for her to win would be an impressive debut.

                • Certainly sounds like GOL is more likely to stay at 2 1/2 now and that the Mares Chase will be her initial target. Should she not see that out around Cheltenham then they can always step back to 2 miles. I still think she's perfect for a crack at the Arkle and maybe If Henry doesn't have anything else for that race then she'll go that way. The ?50,000 extra prize money may also be a persuader come March and potentially what Elimay does this season. She is some jumper though isn't she.

Completely missed that she was declared on Tuesday in the gin excitement - just had a look at the field and fully agree, wonder how many of them will immediately be looking for a mark though.. gabynako and Ragnar immediately strike me as possibles

Thinking of adding journey with me and Bob olinger to these in ew trebles... Potentially phenomenally strong line up in those four races at 50/1, 14/1 now(?), 4/1ish and 25/1

                          • I'd love a bullish update re Ferny. Form looks savage and his prices look decent too.

Are you thinking Arkle or Champion Hurdle ?
