Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • Not sure their beginners chase means anything at all unless it’s over 3m in the mud, and there’s few of those.
it’s the graded race after that that’ll provide more of a clue.
I agree with many on here that appreciate it and Bob are heads above assuming they go novice chasing.
but I don’t think they’ll meet at Cheltenham unless they meet prior and it’s close.
visually to me, Bob looks classier so should go arkle and appreciate it looks less so, and more likely to be best over further.
    but we shall see. Hopefully

I would be on Bob over 2M vs AI in a Novice Chase

even without AI missing Punchestown with injury.

Unless there is a hugely improving 2M novice Chase star, coming through, I’d have Bob O in the Arkle no problem.

But I could say the same for the Marsh and RSA.

The RSA does seem to look a bit deeper, when you sift out the likely hurdlers from each novice Chase betting market. Not sure it will be, and we won’t know until they have all debuted and then start to race in Graded contests as you say.

      Bring it on.

      • I have 2.5 points on at 40/1 for a Bob O Ballymore/Marsh double… hard to know how to cover this one really when he could go Arkle /Marsh / RSA. Stats seem to suggest HDB favours the Arkle, and Saxon you’ve eluded to WPM sending his stronger horses to the Marsh.. how both trainers come to the conclusion that’s the way they’ll go to avoid each other when it’s a reverse of the hurdle distances I’ve no idea.. but that would be a cover bet for now.. along with My Drogo, and possible James Du Berlais and Galiard Du Mesnil. Not sure if anyone has any other covering angles at this early Stage?

        • A cover bet on bob for the banc at 20/1 with pp/betfair is surely a no brainer

If you've got 40/1 Bob O for the Marsh for 2.5 points that's a great position to be in.

If I had that bet, my cover would just be to back him
with Bet 365 at 10/1 for the Arkle

....... and 20/1 for the RSA with Betfair.

Both of those will be with Cashout.

If he wins any of the three you have a healthy profit.

I've got something similar but with My Drogo at 50/1 for the Marsh and 50/1 for the Arkle.

Ive got a small stake double as a cover bet for the RSA (the first horse has won), just in case, and have Cashout on that.

I'm happy to have all bases covered for that horse.

I've also done the same with Bob Olinger, and have Cashout on all 3 Novice chases.

These are two horses that I think could be high class novices at more than one trip.

I'm hoping Galopin De Champs could be a high class 3M Novice Chaser, and have only backed him for the RSA. If he is a better chaser than a hurdler that would be very exciting.

No-one knows for sure where these horses are going yet.

Dan Skelton has said My Drogo will go chasing and he won't go beyond 2M4F at Cheltenham, which is probably more than the trainers of Bob Olinger, Appreciate It, Ferny Hollow, Gaillard Du Mesnil, Galopin Des Champs, Quilixios and Ballyadam have said just yet.

So in the meantime we can take educated guesses on plans.

I don't assume that because bookies make one race a bigger fav than the others that they must be right,as we don't know for sure - and all these horses haven't jumped a fence yet on a racecourse.

            • I think if those bets were placed as standard doubles, they will be covered under related contingency in bookmakers terms and may not be valid?

….if you’re talking about 40-1 Bob O Ballymore/Marsh double that was an offer with Hills ahead of its Ballymore run. They also offered 40-1 Ballymore/RSA & 18-1 Ballymore/any race (prices without boost).

I took them all but have most going on RSA.

Stupid question but what is 'banc' ?
I assume you mean the 3m novice chase I'm just struggling to understand where 'banc' fits in...

Think it's now sponsored by brown advisory, so the brown advisory novice chase.
