Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade
Hello Fat Jockeys,
Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum
We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.
I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

You got to the heart of the matter while I failed in a clumsy attempt to say the same thing.
The second-season chaser idea isn't strictly relevant - it's how much chasing experience they have under their belt.
And the importance of chasing experience for a potential NHC winner is really what I was trying to determine.
I agree that the NHC is a race many horses aren't specifically aimed at long-term - they end up there because either they're not considered good enough for the RSA or failed to lose their novice tag for whatever reason.
But Gordon showed with Galvin that he is prepared to target the race 8 or 9 months in advance - if he's got the right horse - and he certainly seems to have another who fits the bill in Run Wild Free.
Galvin and Cause of Causes
Run Wild Fred ducked the Kim Muir this year to take on the much harder race, and the massive Irish National pot instead, which he narrowly lost.
I would class him in their with Galvin and Cause of Causes as one that Gordon wont miss the NHC opportunity, if the horse is fit and well, as he will be going for the Grand National this year, not the Irish one (IMO).
I think the second season chaser theme with the NHC is purely a Gordon Elliott one."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

One I am certainly keeping an eye on for Mullins.
He could be a Ultima/Kim Muir/Plate/NH Chase/Irish National horse

I know it's the same dilemma every year but these versatile horses are a nightmare to call right, having half a dozen options just makes them an impossible punting proposition for me, and although a nice 'any race' voucher is useful it doesn't allow you to build a few multis for the jackpot...

Question.
I've had a brief look, and it's something that I've always had in my head.
But, as someone who rubbishes horses chances in the arkle if they were bred to run on the flat (aspire tower) and actually ran on the flat,
And was dead against Captain Guinness as his sire was Arakan (a sprinter on the flat)
Can anyone name an arkle winner who had ran on the flat, prior to going NH racing ??
Or whose sire was a sprinter on the flat ???
