      Dark nights
      Wet and cold

Not sure how I'd cope without the National Jump season to get me through it

      • Find it very intriguing that Concertista is as big as 40/1 with B365 for the Champion Hurdle but is shortest with Paddy Power/Betfair @ 16's (Joint 5th fav)..........

Is it significant that Abacadabras is entered in a 2m hurdle again? I am assuming from this that all roads lead to another crack at the Champion Hurdle and / or the 2m 4f Aintree Hurdle. I know a lot of people on here have been talking of a potential step up in trip and a crack at the Stayers but this suggests otherwise

          • Henry on Put The Kettle On who returns this Saturday at Gowran Park........

"She seems to be in great form and everything has gone to plan since she came back in from her summer holidays. We're hoping to start her back there as long as the ground is suitable. There is rain forecast this week, so hopefully it is.
"The plan is for Aidan to come over and ride. She's obviously a mare who has a very good record at Cheltenham and something like the Shloer could work again this season. She looks great and she has done really well so we're happy with her.

"It's a race we've been very lucky in down through the years so we're looking forward to running her and we'll see how we go."

Feels like an exercise to try and steel some price money before the main target in Aintree. Option to run in Stayers or skip cheltenham and go for same 2m 4f race at Aintree.

I'd bring Abacadabras over to the UK and mop up all of the 2 mile grade 1's, especially as the ground starts to soften up. Other than Epatante, who has her limitation now, there's not much that will stay in his way - well, that's if he comes over from Ireland by himself

Agree. They should target the Newcastle race as well.

…20-1 PTKO to win Schloer/CC with Sky.

May get bigger than that if she gets turned over at the weekend. Her record outside of Cheltenham isn't too clever so she could get beat before getting back to winning ways in the Shloer.

Don't disagree with the rationale of raiding the coffers but surely if the horse is quick enough to win 2m graded races on either side of the Irish Sea he can't win a Stayers Hurdle??

Don't see him going Stayers and don't see him troubling the girls in the Churdle. He'll probably go straight to Aintree imo.

                        • Epatante seems a bit of a forgotten horse. Has there been any word on her from NJH yet?

I remember a few people saying that she couldn't be beaten at Cheltenham after winning the Fighting Fifth and things went badly from them on. She does look way over priced on the best of her form.

Agree, but it can’t be just me that struggles to trust Hendo with some horses.
Champ, Altior, Santini, I’m sure there are others, who all had the look of horses being ruined, Epatante may fall into the same group given how good she looked 18months ago and in the Fighting Fifth.
                              Huge statement obviously…

She got a positive mention in hendo’s stable tour. But then a lot did! I think he said she’s been treated for an issue on her back and that they’re hopeful she’ll get closer to honeysuckle this year. 16/1 seems a fair enough each way price to me.
