He did Aintree and Punchestown last season, so maybe he was late in for pre-season and won't be ready for Down Royal. If that's so there's no point in starting him out early if Nicholls gets more work into him than he usually does for his seasonal debut.Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

I'm intrigued to see what he throws at the Charlie Hall and Betfair this year with Clan supposedly being kept fresh for Boxing Day.
I can't see him voluntarily throwing away opportunities at big pots when he's campaigning horses for the trainers title. In the unlikely event of the ground being decent enough on Betfair day, I'd be very surprised if Clan didn't line up.
Will he go bold with Saint Calvados over 3m first time out? I'd probably expect him to go to Ascot in November for the 2m5f.
Frodon sounds like he could go for Haydock, but I couldn't really fancy him there if it was to come up bottomless. Then onto Kempton, DRF and Sandown.
Cyrname? God knows - you couldn't trust him at all.
Next Destination is one I expect to be campaigned with Aintree in mind.

Saint Calvados has been crying out for a step up in trip, and we know he acts on soft ground too, albeit he's proven he's pretty versatile now. Haydock's flat track also looks a good option for a step up in trip to me. Cyrname will presumably go to Ascot for the 1965 Chase now the 'experiment' is over.Luck is a dividend of sweat.
