Any chance Allaho gets re-routed to gold cup? We're in speculation season with the news tonight of course, but just wondering about that with him being another year older and horses supposedly staying better the older they get.
Having Envoi Allen in same ownership makes that tricky I suppose.

Or Envoi goes the Ryanair.
If Allaho wins the King George I am sure they will aim him at the Gold Cup now
He is still held by Minella Indo and APT on all form and races though
I'd rather they sent Energumene up in trip than feck about with Allaho who wouldn't stay 3m2f if it was all downhill.
He was only a length behind MI in that RSA when they both cut each others throats. Had Townend ridden him with slightly more restraint, he'd have seen the trip out ok, imo.
The record of 7 year olds and second season chasers ( 7 and 8 yr olds) is very solid as posts in this forum have mentioned year after year. Reigning Champions (aged 7 - 9) are usually in the fray also.
Last season the only qualifiers came 1st and 2nd and third.
There are not many priced up this year and we've just lost the best of them.
FWIW my shortlist and I've only backed 1 are as follows
Minella Indo (has to be respected, but price is short enough considering his grade 1 form away from Cheltenham is not as good)
Envoi Allen (has a bit to prove, but obvious class)
Allaho (a favourite of mine who I thought could have ran a cracker last year looking at how well he won the other race, but likely to stay at shorter, but you never know now as Willie's lost his No1, has a similar profile to Imperial Commander, Don Cossack & A Plus Tard) - Third season chaser but age on his side and ran well in Ryanair (or at least went off FAV).
Chantry House (the most solid for me and only one I've backed ATM) - fits the bill as a second season chaser with strong Cheltenham festival form.
Other long priced types that may improve enough to be competitive would be
Galvin (his price is actually quite fair at 40-1 and I wonder if Elliott will have half an eye on grade 1's now, but the main target is the National they say, so puts me off betting, as does the 4 miler form, as they were all a bit bunched for my liking) Lieutenant Rocco (would want bigger than 100-1 and would need to win the hennessy, so the special may be the bet for him) Latest Exhibition (hate the price 40-1 and would want nearer 100-1)

Absolutely.
The Allaho not staying is a myth IMO.
His Ryanair performance was that of a horse with a big heart, just needs a proper ride.
Allaho tends to race one way and if he's going to be aggressive which seems to massively suit him good luck doing that in a GC, would be an enormous effort and even a warrior like Native River could only just do it on ground to suit and i'd have him a fair bit better than Allaho.
Has anyone heard anything regarding the big getaway. Very smart novice hurdle form and looked impressive over fences at leopardstown at xmas. Could easily be mullins no.1.
