Just rewatching RTE coverage of the Monkfish vs Envoi clash, pre race Ruby kept hinting that he might not be 100% and imo he was pretty much saying he's the better horse and will find that out next year. Then just before the off Katie Walsh again mentioned maybe not today but Monkfish is the one.

Think the Monk was a ridiculous price for next years GC and now it's just about backable again.

Few splits from today after a very taking performance from KD.
Visually very good from KD and a good 20l quicker(all on the last circuit too) than the hcap hurdle, comfortably quicker than the 2m hcap(poor race admittedly) and the mares novcie. Head in his chest looking at ease good to see the clock back that up as it isn't often the case with such winners. Gauloise finally produced a performance many had hoped for earlier in the spring but the clock looks like she certainly wants further as took time to hit her gear and pretty steady overall.

Worth noting Flooring Porter was very animated at the start(and false one) clearly better than he shown today but does look one dimensional in how he races with a view to going forward, sitting duck today.

Over fences in staying races would be my guess. May be aimed at the French Champion Hurdle which is like a mini chase over 3 miles 1furlong.

I'll put it up before anyone else does........Asterion Forlonge is a proper King George horse. Will absolutely love it around RH Kempton. Class horse when he's in the right race on the right track.

Id be dissapointed if its not his main target for the season
