It’s annoying that Oddschecker doesn’t give all bookie prices. I’d not realised BetFred are stand out 12s on A Plus Tard for the Gold Cup. I know winning for horses returning after not winning previous years renewals are uncommon. However, with question marks over this years novices coming through from either the Marsh or RSA, and not too much looking to come up from the Ryanair, I think APT has a good opportunity to reverse places with MI and is a valid EW bet at the odds. I’ve gone in.

….from what I can see BetFred are quoted as 12-1 on Oddschecker for APT.

Have taken the odds about Mrs Milner in the Stayers. Brilliant winner of the Pertempts. Probably too high now to stay handicapping . Yes she has to improve a fair bit again to make the step up but the 7lb allowance will help and Flooring Porter was lower rated than her at the start of last season. 66/1 is worth the risk !

still plenty scope there for handicaps, even a bit of fiddling back down to the winning mark of 134

Only going up 5lbs for hacking up in a Cheltenham handicap does seem generous
I just assumed she'd go up double that
A few non descript runs when half fit then qualify for a repeat bid will likely be the plan
langer Dan also looks on a very appealing mark, bolted up off 130 then finished miles clear with galopin des champs (who had about 20lbs in hand)
Yet is only 140 according to the RP website

A favourite of mine given I backed her very early antepost for the Pertempts! Can’t see a price TWAR on Hills or Sky for her, which would be preferable given the uncertainty of destination next year. Is anyone able to get that priced up?

Not sure Nolan is the sort to fiddle with her rating. Small yard. More likely to aim high to get his profile up I reckon and entice more top owners. The Stayers is fairly open imo so she could be one to improve and make the step up.

That's the rating the UK handicapper will start from if she is entered over here again.
Mrs Milner is rated 139 in Ireland.Last edited by Saxon Warrior; 25 August 2021, 10:06 PM."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".
