The owners need to campaign him in more non-Cross-Country races, to alter his IRE/UK ratings, and it seems they are finally looking to do that.

To me this appears like they are admitting defeat, without admitting it out loud.........and whilst still moaning about it.

UK handicapper has played it straight all along, and I don’t believe for a minute that they’ve never complained about another horse’s rating.

Their moaning began long before Tiger Roll was around.

That won’t change the fact he’s a duel GN winner and the handicapper has every right to alter the weights for the race, they could run him half a dozen times
in 2m chases and his Irish rating would
          probably drop
8/9lb, but that doesn’t mean his Uk/National rating will
          drop the same.
It’s a shame the owners crave so much attention, the best chance for the treble was this year but arrogance and stubbornness got in the way, a horse like Tiger Roll deserves better....

          • I think if he ran down the field four times, then he could go down 7lbs.

Any sign of decent form, then that won’t happen, of course.

              .
I think there’d be uproar from everyone else in the game if a duel winner was allowed to attempt a third win off a mark lower to his last win, which was effortless....

                If he won maybe.

But his last National win would be 3 years previously, so ratings should be allowed to change according to form over those 3 years

                • Can the handicapper drop him when they are so obviously not trying and running him on unsuitable ground or unfit?

then he bolts up when trying

                  • We know Galvin wins the National anyway so they can drop him by a stone if they like.

                    • It will be three years since he ran in the Grand National so his rating could easily be different

                      • So Allaho rated 15lbs better that this year's Champion Chase winner based on his below par run behind Chacun at Punchestown. On that basis he must be a player in the 2m division mustn't he ?

                        • ….I like Greaneteen @ 22-1 (with Betfair boost & cash-out option) for the Ryanair.

I know it’s not Irish based, but it had some good horses behind (PTKO, Altior, Sceau Royal) on its last win at Sandown & I’m sure Bryony Frost said it would be some horse next season over 2.5miles. Only 12-1 with 365.

Yep, I can see that happening Eggs. Just wish he was trained in Ireland !

Id imagine that is based on his Ryanair performane though?? PTKO beaten a similar amount by Chacun at Lep with an iffy ride

                                Most definitely I would say.

They all finished in a heap in the champion chase because of the slow pace set. Not sure about others but I was of the view PT should have taken it up much sooner, which CPS had done comfortably over Xmas. To me they wanted to do what he did at Dublin and cruise up before or after the last and win comfy, I’d didn’t work. Anyway I’m waffling a bit now.

It is Mullins but I’d be terribly surprised if Allaho after that performance in the Ryanair was dropped again, he may have to with the limited mid races in Ireland but not with a view to the champion chase imo.

He has Energumene who has blown everything to dust at 2m, would make absolutely no sense to me whatsoever to swap those 2 horses targets.

They were right up for the match against Shishkin in the Arkle with Energumene, next year will be his chance to prove what they wanted to this year.
