  • This, from Twitter, by a guy with supposed links to Robcour (I can't verify but someone on here said it's likely to be accurate info) suggests Albert Bartlett and than JWM is the best of their novice hurdlers. I've got him covered for AB in lots of bets, including a roll up that would pay for all my festival outlay so hopefully for me the guy is right!

Also worth noting that this guy said that gin was going for mares which appears to be happening based on comments yesterday.

    • The betting suggests Ballymore for him over the other 2 races but that's not always correct.

A poster here on the forum owns that twitter account, he doesn't have links to Robcour but pays for an info service from someone possibly linked, I forget the names involved but maybe someone else here has a better memory than I do and can fill in the blanks.

Race entries and performance will help clear it up, there's plenty of time and opportunity to rejig bets if necessary, it'd be different if we're talking about an injury which noone is.

Be very interesting to see how the hcaper rates him now they are "incorporating" more modern methods so they say, yet also don't want to be seen to be hammering easy novice winners . You wouldn't back against him if he turned up vs those hcapers next week if they opened up with 130< imo.
Straight in at 136, don't get me wrong i was impressed with him and was worthy of a mark in the low 130s hence my optimism if given 130 or lower but you can't help but feel the hcapper is going to get stick again all this season dishing out a mark like that first up with nothing much in behind with any sort of form etc.

                • With the way how bookies cut horses these days after any win, even if they are as short as Impulsive One is today at 1/4, if he should win today he could go into favorite with some firms for the triumph. Currently he's 40/1 with WH but lower with other firms. A very nice performance on his hurdling debut the other week, and after this race he could be the juvenile front runner based on hurdle form

Most likely they will considering how they've acted this season, on the topic of juveniles, I'm looking forward to seeing magastriao I think he's called at Chepstow this weekend

Very much so, there are some good words about him and his defeater Porticello by a lot of the Juvenile experts

He got an RPR of 143 for that, so maybe not too harsh from the handicapper - pretty impressive for a second start over hurdles, but he's going to be aimed at the Ballymore race at the Cheltenham October meeting next, so that should give a better indication of what level he's actually at.

                        • Bar the 1st and the two last flights, that was an impressive round of jumping from Impulsive One and for him running so keenly all the way round he looks to have a good engine for all he probably hasn't beaten much.

We don't have a Juvenile or Triumph thread yet so this is the closest to it

We do but it's on the NH board. maybe @Kev could move it onto here ?

Juvenile hurdlers, and myself, are set to return to Hexham in ten days time. If the young horses are a fraction as excited as I am then we should be in for a treat. Though ten days before the first race of the season makes the posting of this thread somewhat early, there have already been enough noteworthy ex-French imports,
