I think that with the yankees (especially this far out) it is best to focus on horses that (all being well) will give us a run for our money.

So as impressive as Sir Gerhard, Kilcriit, Galopin des Champs etc.. were - it is difficult to pin down a target.
There of course can be late switches, Spectre suggestion does seem sensible.

    Appreciate It - Arkle
    Honeysuckle - Champion Hurdle
    Bob Olinger - Marsh
    Monkfish - Gold Cup
As mentioned above, Shishkin - CC is another that would be "safe" to assume and maybe Vanillier - BANC and Tellmesomethinggirl - Mares could be others to consider (along the same theme).

I agree. Though I’m far from convinced BO goes Marsh so I’d swap him out for one of the other 3 you suggest.

Re Honey, the only way she won't be going for a Churdle repeat next year is if connections decide they wish to try and emulate Dawn Run and doing the Churdle/GC double. If they did that then, with her being 8 next year, she'd skip the Novice route and go straight for the big one. She's already won a point over 3 miles and regularly jumps fences at home. IMO though, she'll be going for a repeat next year as they'll want to breed off her and hurdling is less risky plus her owner will be desperate to see her win the 2 mile hurdle crown again in the flesh rather than on TV.

Henry has minella indo, a plus tard and envoi allen

Il eat my hat if honeysuckle goes chasing

I actually quite liked what Tony keenan and barry geraghty said yesterday

If envoi continues to run keenly he has absolutely no chance of staying the gold cup trip and could actually end up in the champion chase as he has plenty of pace

Some great early shouts already posted, IMO the 2 safest(hopefully) bets are Flooring Porter for the stayers and Honey for the CH for those of you that like an early RAB Sky are doing the treble of Bob O, Honey and Flooring Porter ANY race at 80/1 if you price that up using their own AR prices it comes in at a little over half of that price and i think thats worth a few quidb

Already been mentioned here but GDM and Vanillier both appear good EW bets and Kilcruit although a shocking price looks a fair shout for the BM

I'd do a Cheveley Park Yankee.

                  Allaho Ryanair
                  EA Gold Cup
                  Sir Gerhard Supreme
                  One of the bumper horses

Do people think Bob Olingers price for the marsh in fair? Or short? We don’t know his potential over fences and he could be anything 5/1 seems a little tight plus the target is up the air so he may not go there.... if you asked me if I’d rather back at this moment in time monkfish for the gold cup at 5/1 or Bob Olinger in the marsh at 5/1, I would pick monkfish everytime.

I feel fairly confident that Bob Olinger will end up the arkle favourite and Appreciate It for the Marsh.
Just from how they both run, Bob looks classier and Appreciate more of a relentless galloper - a fast one though
They would both win either race IMO, just wouldn't surprise me if they switched. Especially on softer ground.

They may also clash at some point and end up in different races at the festival.

Obviously ground, speed and ability jumping will all play a part, but that is my first instinct.

I completely agree Q. Shame they are both priced so short. I think Shishkin was 6 or 7's at this stage last year the fav this year is already 9/2 ffs

I’ve stuck Bob O in a multi for the 3m novice chase, different people see it different ways but what that highlights is how little value there is in his price, 3 very feasible options...

Looking at my records.. I backed him at 7/1 with Paddy Power at the end of March.

9/2 right now is short. Very short. I still think he gags up in a Marsh though. He’s got the pace to go well at the top level over 2m but the ability to go a strong gallop and then quicken off that strong pace. He’s built like a chaser and the fact he did what he did as a novice hurdler.. wow. Some engine.

I think he’s a freak lads. In fact, any time I get a strong fancy for anything in the next few months (something in the Caribbean Cricket will be one for sure I’d expect), I’ll be doubling with Bob Olinge for any race. I want him to be returning a significant amount before he jumps a fence. Becayse if he comes out and shows he can jump, he’s instantly a 5/2 shot by October.

How would you play Bob Olinger? I find it difficult to figure out. Any race he is way too short and for the races he’s priced up he’s on the short side also but the obvious risk with playing him for individual races is working out where he will turn up... He’s a horse a really want onside but at his current prices I’m finding it hard to back him.

He's already 2/1 TWAR with skybet, that's a ridiculously short price.
