Never know with Willie where he might send them, the way I always play it with his horses that have been injured is not get involved at all until I’ve at least seen an entry.

In a word, no. IMO she'll be Mullins number 1 Mares Hurdle horse and Concertista will go Champion Hurdle. For me, the extra half mile at Cheltenham blunted Concertista speed. She'll be dropped back to 2 miles and will be Honey's biggest threat for a repeat.

After talking about Blue Lord this is what I think could happen too for Munir/Souede - they’ll run Concertista in the CH & get the allowance & send Blue Lord chasing, goes to the Arkle and see how good he is (Footpad esque) IMO...

        • What are we thinking for the Mares Chase next season? I sort of want to take the first two on, especially with the prices they are. Colrevy was good but is much better right handed and I feel she beat a poor field. Elimay I’m not convinced with being a really top mare. There has the be better out there than them two.

I think there should be no issue with novices winning this race if the horse is good enough. But who will be the mares likely to go novice chasing?

Willies novice mares were poor this year.
Best novice looks to be going Mares Hurdle
          Will Black Tears go chasing?
Can’t see Concertista going chasing the way she’s bred
Roksana won’t go chasing now at her age surely (plus needs 3 miles)
Don’t think any of the others in the Mares Hurdle will be good enough.
Honeysuckle won’t go here if she goes chasing
Benie I just don’t want to go near anymore

Is there anyone else that could be going chasing that wasn’t in the race last year?

If Telmesomethinggirl does go chasing I would be tempted

Scarlet and Dove is the one for me. Has form with Mount Ida and was giving Colreevy a race before falling. Has since won twice including the grade 2 mares chase at limerick before the festival giving weight away. Not priced up yet but may go underrated when she is.

What about Mount Ida herself? She looked a serious mare. She might want further ideally, but she's not going to get it at the fez unless she stays in the handicaps.

Wouldn't rule her out at all but 12-1 is too short imo.

Please ignore the ignorance as the memory has gone blank, but wasn't this the horse they started out in poor races last Summer with a view towards Cheltenham but then said she was too good for NH and could be targeting the Arc and Melbourne Cup ?
                          Or am I confused ?

If this is the case I'd suggest any ante post Cheltenham investment carries a huge risk....

Not the only one, have a look on oddschecker at all the blue. Very embarrassing on their part, some disgraceful prices now. Almost all of the top three horses in all novice races cut. Even gone 3/1 monkfish
