I backed Allaho last night at 14/1 for the Champion Chase based on Mullins comments and his run on Thursday.

For me he was the most impressive winner of the whole week and how he kept that gallop up was remarkable, look what happened to Min going that pace.

Shiskin is going to be hard to beat but if he wins the 2 mile G1 at Punchestown, Allaho will be clear 2nd best. Energumene for the Ryanair could be a nice related double.

Or does he have a go at the GC? As good as APT was and is only 7, isn’t there some horror stat about not winning the GC unless it’s your first pop? Could be wrong. If that is the case though, then why not send both? I’m not convinced Alaho doesn’t stay just on the basis of that Leopardstown defeat or the narrow 3rd in the RSA ‘19.

He simply doesn’t stay well enough at that level and the Ryanair trip is perfect for him. I learnt the hard way because I was against him all this season. There’s no way Willie Mullins will step him back up for a gold cup when he has the Ryanair fav, he goes for the easiest race to win. Cheveley park also have APT and possibly envoi allen for the gold cup and Willie has monkfish and al boum photo so no need to run allaho there at all.

Agree. I think the only time we will see him at that trip again will be in the Hing George which Willie mentioned straight after the race. Then back to the Ryanair
