Fat Jockey Day One Yankee - Captain: nortonscoin200

So, does Dame De Compagnie enter our calculations now Hendo has said this is the target?
Love Concertista but a repeat of DDC's display in the Coral a year would certainly enable her to get close.
And in an each-way yankee she provides a decent chance of making the frame with the possibility of causing an upset.
What do you reckon - is she one for the short-list.
Changing tack......as part of a rigorous training programme in preparation for DAY ONE YANKEE DAY.....decided to have a little dry run on some of the likely suspects:
Made it a Super Yankee because by training to that level the Yankee may seem that little bit less challenging.
So went for these for a 1.3pt each way super yank:
Ballyadam (Sup) at 8-1. (suggested by Norton's Who)
Happygolucky (Ultima) at 20-1 (The capital of Spectreland)
Dame De Compagnie (MH) at 11-1
Busselton (Boodles) at 14-1
Galvin (NHC) at 4-1. (suggested by Norton's Who)
To return 138,053........which includes 800 for the place element.

Is Goshen going to interest us for the Day One yankee?
At least he is going to ensure that Honeysuckle and Epatante go off at reasonable price.
Goshen now a best priced 9-2.
Not sure any of the three principals will be an each way price on the day.
So do we:
1 Leave the race alone for our yankee.
2. Go for Goshen.
3. Bank on Epatante retaining her crown.
4. Keep the faith in Honeysuckle to preserve her unbeaten record.
5. Look for a left-field selection at an each way price.Last edited by nortonscoin200; 22 February 2021, 02:17 PM.

Also, mentioning Goshen for a forum yankee is certainly going to stir the pot

Picking Goshen will be a reet laugh, forcing people to back him, some of which will be glad in secret as they're scared

I love the thought of the forum all getting on board Goshen
However, I'd be with Kev, I still think Honeysuckle is the most likely winner.

I'd personally prefer Sharjah EW than any of those.
Think that he can get closer to Epatante (smaller field and closer to the action) and Honeysuckle (not leave himself so much to do)
I don't have a bean on Goshen, so I guess that it would cover that base.
Placed horses from the previous renewal have a decent record IIRC
