In stone and for what it's worth she will not be winning on the snaff over 2 miles with Sharjah in there who is a serious 2 miler on his day. Without him in the race maybe but then it'll be little more than a training exercise then.

If there’s any soft in the description at DRF which they’re under pressure to produce she will beat Sharjah who needs proper good ground

Ground conditions will determine if Benie Des Dieux runs in the Mares Hurdle or the Stayers in Cheltenham according to Willie Mullins. Needs cut in ground. Says she could be better than any mare he's trained on

They won'y go Stayers with her surely?

So you've basically smashed into her for this and nothing can happen to alter your view

Probably worth covering your stake NRNB 5/1.

Not a hope I would think, will have the ground she wants Tuesday and Mullins will take the easier option and get a win on the board.
I would think Honeysuckle if winning he Irish champ hurdle won't show up here either making it all the more straight forward. Think even if she did Benie would have too much for her.

            • Unless there are storms forecast, the ground for this race will be softer than the ground for the Stayers.

              • Yep that’s what Willie said as well Archie; guaranteed softer ground on the Tuesday under normal weather conditions as it will be well watered to last the week

On a similar note, in the last hour Cheltenham have updated the ground for Saturdays racing.

                  Soft all over.

It’s been predominantly Soft all season, checked back and October, November, December were all primarily Soft, and NYD was the same, but with Good to Soft in it.

Benie Des Dieux and Honeysuckle 1-2 combination forecast for the Mares Hurdle

What would the reverse forecast pay on them at their current odds?

Got a tenner at 42/1 but a wasted one I suspect

                      • Anyone able to point me in the direction of any actual form that says that Honeysuckle will win a Champion Hurdle?

Hint - beating stayers over 2m4f doesn't count. Neither does what she might do at the DRF.

There is none until next week apparently!

No but I can point you in the direction of the thread where this should have been posted if you would like

It's the potential. While you say beating stayers. Bacardys didn't do too badly over 2m4 first time out. He beat a very below par Apples who still is below par. But she's done this on her 2nd time outside mares novice company. She hurdles well too and looks professional.
The form aint rock solid, but with the allowance she might not have to run much higher than her current rating.

                              • Don’t get me wrong that was visually impressive today but honeysuckle beat pretty much the same field in December over the mares trip. I don’t see how people can think BDD would win as comfortably as people are making out. Honeysuckle has done nothing but improve in every race
