I've held on to mine for the time being too. When NRNB kicks in at the declarations reduce in size, his price is only going to get shorter and provide a better cash out nearer the time. I imagine he'll be entered in both and the decision made very late so it's unlikely (famous last words) that you'll be caught out any time soon.

    • Longhouse Poet was last seen finishing third behind Latest Exhibition in Grade One company at Leopardstown’s Dublin Racing Festival, with You Raised Me Up occupying the same finishing position in the ultra-competitive Ladbrokes Hurdle on the same afternoon.

Brassil added: “I was very happy with Longhouse Poet’s last run — and all being well, he’ll go to Cheltenham. That’s the plan.

“He’s in the two races, the Ballymore and the Albert Bartlett. At the moment we’d be favouring the two-five (Ballymore), mainly because we think we have a better chance of getting soft ground on the Wednesday than the Friday.

“There’ll be lots of good horses up against him, but I hope he’s improving and that he’ll run a good race.

Beating Champ with City Island is making Martin uncharacteristically optimistic about LP chances V Envoi Allen in this, IMO of course.

To be fair to him he's just saying he'll run a good race. I'd say they've already accepted if he's to be a top prospect it'll be over fences.

            • Some impressive comments from Donoghue on Envoi Allen. I remember Codd saying Labaik was the best work horse they ever had...

                  • The Big Breakaway heading straight to Cheltenham. Currently 8-1 for the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle and as big as 14-1 for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle.

Goshen and The Big Breakaway will head straight to next month's Cheltenham Festival without another run after connections opted to bypass weekend... Read More

I would fancy TBB to serve it up to Envoi Allen

EA a big winner for me but I do have a recurring nightmare as to how he goes up the hill ?

Does he idle when in front or is he emptying ?

Going straight to Cheltenham would be a worry both from the point of view of number and quality of races that he's been in.

Be surprised if he's given too much of a hard time at the festival anyway, I have him down as one for the future, over fences.

I've only left a small bet open on him, but not expecting much from it tbh.

Just taken a look back at the finish of the bumper and he really does rally to the challenge of Blue Sari.

I was proper gruelling ground last year too

I really wouldn't worry about him emptying. He only does enough in his races, but he wins snaff like. I reckon he'll do what Samcro did but just leave it till after the last to get infront just to give us a sweat

                              • Yes agree but 4.5 f more than bumper and last race a slight concern at Naas

Charlie I agree , hope that’s exactly how it works out
