Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

last year the ground played a part in horses having less runs ...but i suspect in the next 5 years we will higher median ratings from AB winners and more in the way of future chasers emerging . taking out Bobs Worth the tendancy has been towards the race producing hurdlers ..the reputation it has of a slog etc is helped by the successes of some of those who have finished down the field ..and its on the new course ..generally on decent ground ..lets see

        • Blue for The Big Getaway again today. Envoi Allen trading around 2.82 on the machine which is as big as I’ve seen in a while

That's probably just adjusting to a realistic price.... he's been "too short" for a while compared to what he'll be during the preview circuit etc...

            • Any Elixir Dainay or Longhouse Poet backers retaining faith in these two for this race? Been close to cashing them both the last couple of days....

I would cash them both out, not just because they don't look good enough but they'd have to be more likely to run in the AB than here no?

I thought the fact the owners sponsor the Ballymore means they will probably favour that race for LP no? And could still see him running into a place at 33/1.

ED was so keen last time I'd be amazed if they want to step him up in trip? If he can reproduce the Lawlors of Naas run, he'd probably be placed too wouldn't he?!

                  • Elixir looked a bit keen for the AB at Dublin.

Doesn't look good enough for the Ballymore though.

EA has dispatched of LP with relative ease so I see no reason why connections wouldn't go Albert Bartlett has his run at the DRF was very encouraging. If EA & ED both go here then LP would have to reverse the form with both, and whatever we have this side of the Irish sea, which I just don't see. You make a good point re ED and how freely he race so I would probably cash LP and leave ED, if it were me.

Appreciate the reply charlie. Food for thought... think I will hang fire for the time being. Just got a feeling this race could really cut up from what the lists look like currently.

No worries pal. We are at that tricky stage now a month from Cheltenham where we find ourselves at a crossroads of stick or twist when it comes to bets like the above. I think its always easier for people to convince themselves to hang onto a bet than it is to bin it off and cash out. 'Human nature the unknown sure', and something I can be just as guilty of as anyone.

Yeah I agree. Its that fear of cashing one out then watching it win I think!

Both are running for places and I think the better ground will be in Longhouse Poets favour in March. I do not feel he wants 3 miles as he was still a little keen at the DRF and didn't last home there in my opinion. If the Ballymore cuts up then you could be sitting on a nice price where he won't need to beat many home to land a place (if you're each way). It also only takes some bad luck, injury or a fall to Envoi Allen and it all changes for you.
