An assumption based on the quote you used. I'd call it an opinion over an assumption also.

      I'd call it pure speculation

Who was the quote from? WPM?

        • WPM uses Handicap Hurdle entries really wisely at the Festival, the county probably being the main race for him. I could easily see Unexcepted try the 2M Grade 1 at the DRF, and if unsuccessful then the County could come into consideration.

Scooby is good at pinpointing the possible routes that this trainer would think of. Under 140 OR in the County after finishing say 3 to 5 lengths off the Grade 1 winner could happen.

I was surprised at that quote and expected it to be quickening of a slow pace. But looking at the fractions of 15 seconds per furlong which was what they were hitting today. If you adjust the grade 1race down by 1 minute for the 4 furlongs further of the races you get Envoi @ 3.57.1 and Asterion @3.56.7.

Go figure that and I am not trying to crab Envoi Allen

Good performance by both although clearly Envoi in much stronger race. That's all we need to know.

Am I right in thinking you where adamant after royal bond envoi would only be going to the supreme no chance for this. I think you may owe scooby a few pints at the festival for constantly telling you it was this race. While at the bar mines a Guinness 👌🏻

Exactly about a much stronger race and I would have expected the comparative times to be about 5 or 6 seconds faster instead of slightly slower. I will be interested in the RP top speed assessments of both races.

Asterion backed heavily best 20/1 now. Slight tendency to jump right reminds me of Apples Jade

Indeed, said Supreme on the back of what the owners said. Ballymore was my preference though punting wise so more than happy to be 'wrong'. Bets were down on Envoi a long time ago so not sure Scooby will be expecting any pints. I like a man who sticks by his guns though, bit like myself.

                        Only tap water.

I do not drink alcohol what so ever, due to an extremely low tolerance.

So no excuses from myself of being pissed when placing, on the likes of sceau royal CC.

                        • Credit it too you Scooby, you’re rarely wrong even when the tide is flowing in the other direction, you called the Envoi distance right by the look of it and you were also spot about in your analysis of the Tornado Flyer/Dunvegan race today, you’re a very knowledgeable racing punter

Ffs you’re confusing me with Lobos

I also have a low tolerance level to most things

                            • Just incase anyone was thinking a step up to the bartlett, despite the owners.

Reflecting on Longhouse Poet's performance Brassil commented: "I was very pleased with the run.

“The winner has that much more experience and miles under his belt, in good company.

“We'd be very pleased in his first run out of maiden company. He stays and I'd say he could be a better horse when he has more horses around him too.

“We'll probably enter him for the two-mile-six at Leopardstown but he could go straight for the Ballymore.”
