  • Not one of those trainers/jockeys even mention the word Champion Hurdle when discussing EA. General feeling is Supreme by the looks of it. My gut/head says same.

Because common sense dictates you wouldnt run him In a CH and risk ruining his whole career.
Theres plenty of very good amateur boxers, you wouldnt stick them straight in for a world title because they look very good and might just win.

He'll never go there anyway, so pointless talk.

Follow your own gut, then you cant be frustrated at the outcome. think your wrong though and he'll go for the ballymore.

I like that comparison and am in complete agreement. If EA goes Ballymore and wins then that'll give me a bigger return than Supreme and have him and AD (Ballymore) in doubles with Abra at big prices all round so happy how today's race went. Just love trying to second guess these trainers!

        • Gutted for the syndicate who own Darver Star. Really good 3rd today behind EA and would be a live ew chance for this. However lost novice status for winning a Wex handicap hurdle off 106 in April

The poor owners.... won a handicap, then rattled off another 4 wins before placing in a Grade 1?!

            I can't imagine they're gutted.

Apologies for the stupid question, but if he's not eligible for the Ballymore this season, how was he eligible for the Royal Bond?

Novice winners after a certain date in Spring (can't be assed looking up haha) are only eligible until Drinmore weekend as a novice.

                    • He was super impressive yesterday yet again; perhaps I’m biased because I’ve backed him for this race rather than the Supreme but yet again I was thinking just wait till the step up in trip. Think he wins either but hopefully it’s this

                      • Having watched the racing from yesterday have to agree with most of what has already been said. The plan was always the ballymore so I still see no reason for that to have changed, he just looks a superstar. Jumps well for such a big horse and will no doubt make a brilliant chaser in time. Had a cover bet for the supreme when malone was injured at 25’s which is already paying 6 times the stake so seems a wise decision now and will no doubt cash it when he is upped in trip next time.

Personally, delighted to see that. Was a bit taken aback when he opened up fav to run in the Supreme!
