  • If Benie comes here it will ruin a lot of my multiples. I’ve used her as a banker in the mares along with Paisley here. I’m talking like 20 trebles with numerous different combos. Defi for the champion chase at 16/1, Min for the Ryanair at 12/1, thyme hill for the spuds at 14/1, envoi for the ballymore at 10/1 ....... the list goes on !!!! Willie pleeeeeaaaaasssse don’t do this to me !!!!!!

    • From Willie
“When I saw her coming up the straight today, I thought that had stayers’ written all over it. I’ll have to have a chat to Rich (Ricci, owner).

“The ground will be right for her in the Mares’ Hurdle as it’s always softer ground on the first couple of days of the Festival and the ground will be drying out by the Thursday.

“I will certainly be having a look at the other race (Stayers’ Hurdle).”

So many contradictions in that statement I've lost count. Mullins and Henry have us all on strings with Benie and Honey. Just imagine if neither went Mares.......carnage. lol !

I'm guessing here but we know Ricci likes his winners and he's not nailed on anywhere else. Best chance currently would be her heading to the mares.

Would be exciting to see her here no doubt.

Agree. Everyone on here needs to take a deep breath and repeat after me:

Willie goes for the easiest race.
Willie goes for the easiest race.
Say it with me. Willie goes for the easiest race.
*unless owner forces hand ie Laurina.

Yep + we know Ricci doesn't argue over race planning.

Yeh exactly. I was a strong advocate for BDD going here initially but then I just go back to which race is easier and its the mares vs Honey and not the stayers v PP.

                    • I was so close yesterday to doing the mares 'Runaround' treble. Didn't bother.

Think PP & Betfair were best prices.
                      Laurina - Mares 10-1
                      BDD - stayers 14-1
                      Honey - Champ 7-1

                      Now BDD 5-1 stayers.

                      FWIW,
If Paisley gets beat at the weekend then BDD takes another step closer to running here.

Pretty sure Willie's weighing up the Mares without Benie, especially if Honey going Champion hurdle.
He'd fancy beating Roksana with any of his others.

If Laurina don't run well at Dublin in the Flogas I'd say she's running in one of the staying hurdles too.

EXACTLY my thought process this evening, Q. Very feasible. Would be classic Mullins.

There is a chance, that the Stayers looks easier than the Mares though isn't there?

Is anyone expecting Paisley Park to be 10L+ victory in the Cleeve in? I think a few lengths is about the best you could hope for.

Another IF needed, but IF Honeysuckle wins well at the DRF, but they stick to the plan of going for the Mares...... would Paisley look more beatable, KNOWING how well BDD gets the 3m trip now?

Probably not on balance, was trying to convince myself.

A NRNB double on Honeysuckle Mares and BDD Stayers might be worthwhile though? - Shame only Slybet offering at the moment

                          • Loving it most of you trying to convince yourselves that taking on Honey at level weights is easier than taking on Paisley getting half a stone over 3 miles. Dont get me wrong, Im desperate for Paisley and his owner to win again and rather Benie had her match up with my darling in the Mares, but we all know if Benie went Stayers she'd be a hot fav to turn Paisley over and the £60k extra pot has to be very tempting too. Love it, just love it.

Mares without Benie 100% means Honey would Rock up there even if she won the Irish Churdle giving the others a 1/2 mile head start. As both trainers have said, no decision will be made until the last minute. It's going to be some poker game. Who's got the best race, Willie or Henry?????

Apples didn't turn up today so she beat nothing. I'm happy with talk about her for the Stayers as it gives an extra point for ITCF to win the that race
