  • Although relatively pleased from a price perspective to have got on the w/o prices that the cowboy mentioned (I think)
I actually think Emitom will do well to place.
That Haydock race was not that good and he wasn't that impressive either. Having finally watched it.

Yep, I backed Ronald Pump on the exchanges as soon as he was declared in the Stayers. Had to go through the chasing v hurdling debate before and after his run behind Carefully Selected, and then when chasing was shelved, the Pertemps v Stayers option.

I always thought the UK handicapper would take him out of the Pertemps, and that came to pass last week.

Did manage to get 30/1 avge on BFX in the without PP market, and I know this morning that he was still 20/1 w/o PP with Betfair Sportsbook. This looks good too good to last, with Ronald Pumps price to win the race dropping to 33s and 25s now, and PP around evens.

            • I think I've decided to take on Paisley Park it is just that I have no fecking clue who with. I've backed Penhill as I feel he's been campaigned nice and tidy for this in mind but I really wouldn't be overly confident.

I'm not a fan of the W/O markets tbh, with PP at such a compressed price the value has to be on taking him on straight up.

I'm gutted my boy Thistlecrack isn't here as I'd nearly just left it at him @50s and just sat back and watch what happens. I know Paisley is just a horse who finds the turbos when he's niggled at but I couldn't back him at that price, freak or not and is there going to be a stage where he doesn't find enough?

The problem is that the race is piss poor weak and I have no idea who to turn to to take Paisley on with

Take a punt on City Island, Brassil might have fed him something special.

Fair point and probably what I'll end up doing... It just doesn't feel the same laying a shorty and it bombing compared to backing a dog and seeing it romp home

                      Lay top 2/3/4 finishes
I expect a top 4 finish PP will be about a 1.18-1.20 shot so like cheering on 5/1-11/2 winner

You haven't really justified any reason to take Paisley Park on yet.... stand your ground if you do, not many people brave (or stupid) enough to take him on from what I've seen!

I actually don't think I've heard anyone taking PP on!?

                        Place lay, whoosh.

Hmm very hard to justify it credibly really.

However I guess a big reason is that he's shorter than Big Bucks ever was, and shorter than Thistlecrack was... I just cannot be having that tbh. I really like Paisley Park and love how he's rather an unsung superstar compared to the likes of Benie, Altior, Tiger Roll etc. but that price gives me the creeps.

Other than that I do wonder how much longer that insane gas tank can get him over the line or how full can that tank be. He is a lovely age but if Summerville Boy sacrifices himself and goes full tilt again then maybe something else can pick up Paisley towards the end....hence why I've backed Penhill.

Again Paisley is his price for a damn good reason, even if I think it is very compressed. The horse is a complete tool but as the shortest price horse of the festival...in a race like the Stayers...the lunatic in me just has to oppose.

There's just nobody jumping out at me now...Penhill with a push but other than that...meh

                          • Unibet boosted him to evens tonight.

I reckon Betfair will boost him to evens on Thursday during their preview.

I reckon bookies will offer evens for flash prices etc...

I reckon you can get a decent amount on at evens if you can be bothered.

Bookies will push him to evens, even if they 'lose' and he wins, they can expect most of their money back anyway on the Friday!

Thistlecrack isn't a fair comparison, he was evens without being the reigning champion..... Big Bucks is more similar, and he would have been 5/6 at this stage etc, ready to hit evens on the morning....

                            • These boosts are limited, Unibets was £20 max so they’re hardly going out on a limb and mortgaging the company.
                              Media gimmicks these offers...

                                Takes multiple accounts though.

He'll be widely available at Evens between now at the start of the race I'd imagine.
