I’ve just backed Penhill at 16’s just incase he wins or shows definite improvement today. He hasn’t run more than twice in a season for 5 years so either he’s in need of the race fitness or they’re started to run out of ideas for him but thought 16/1 was a big price with cash out available

The main aim is to increase the number of mares into Racing.
The addition of more mares races and prize money was part of the strategy, and not the aim.
They now have excellent opportunities to race against their own sex but also take on the boys if they wish. They have it both ways.
There is no doubt that if these mares win at the festival against the boys, it would do more for Mares in training than them sticking to their own sex.
On a human level.
It'd be like a woman winning the World darts, or Snooker, or The Open Golf championship.
Be a lot more little girls picking up darts, cues and a putter if that ever happened.
And a lot more owners purchasing Mares if they keep winning the Championship races at the festival too.

Case in point is Fiona Sherrock in darts, her wins against men will do a thousand times more for females playing darts than her thrashing women.
However the horses don’t decide where they go, the trainers do and a win is a win in their eyes

Although well beaten Penhill progressed today and you can bet your life Bloomy didn't want him fully wound up for January, so I saw that as an encouraging run.
Paisley Park of course will be a warm order but Penhill could get competitive in March....

Not got the Mares Hurdle thread yet so I'm assuming all the chat is in there....
Willie certainly not hiding his feelings regarding target though! I was a bit taken a back!
She looked absolutely superb, she'd wallop Paisley Park
